Who we are
At Aquila, we invest in category-defining B2B/B2G software companies globally, acting as a thought-partner, striving for the success of our companies in the long term. We are a well-managed, profitable company that operates like a startup with the financial backing of a parent company. For our people, this means limitless possibilities.
We are unapologetically unique, pivoting to respond to the needs of the multiple markets we operate in. We have ambitious goals, and we are looking for genuine contributors with integrity, energy, flexibility, and loyalty. We are investing in building future leaders who can take an idea and make things happen.
Who we need
At SymPro, an Aquila company and part of Constellation Software, we provide treasury management software that supports investment, debt, and cash management operations for public sector organizations across North America. With more than 400 customers, we help government agencies and public institutions improve financial accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency in complex treasury environments. Backed by the stability of Constellation Software and the long-term ownership model of Aquila, SymPro combines the strength of an established business with the agility of a focused, product-led software company.
Reporting to the General Manager, we are hiring a Sales and Marketing Manager to lead and develop our commercial team. As our new Sales and Marketing Manager, you will shape our sales and marketing strategy, build and coach the team, strengthen sales processes, and drive new business opportunities across North America. You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in key sales opportunities, bringing greater structure, focus, and alignment to how we engage customers and expand our market presence.
This is a full-time, remote role based in North America.
What’s in it for you
Build the commercial engine behind the next stage of growth. We have invested in developing our treasury management solutions, and now the focus is on accelerating growth. You will have the opportunity to build and develop the team, bring structure to the sales process, and shape how sales and marketing work together to win new business. This is a chance to put your leadership experience to work, make meaningful changes, and see the results in team performance, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
A proven product with a compelling story to take to market. We have built a strong reputation and established presence in the public sector treasury management market. You will build on this foundation, introducing more organizations to modern, cloud-based solutions, automation, and emerging AI-powered capabilities that help finance teams improve forecasting, reduce manual work, and make more informed decisions about public funds. You will benefit from the credibility of an established business, technology that addresses real financial challenges, and the opportunity to expand our market reach.
The opportunity to grow into broader executive leadership. You will work directly with the General Manager and gain experience across the full commercial function, from sales strategy and team development to marketing, customer relationships, and revenue performance. You will join an established business backed by Aquila and Constellation Software, with the stability of a long-term ownership model and the opportunity to make a visible contribution to growth. As you demonstrate success, there is potential to progress into broader leadership roles, including Chief Revenue Officer or General Manager positions within the organization.
As our new Sales and Marketing Manager, you will
- Set the commercial direction. You will define and execute the sales approach needed to support organic growth, pipeline development, and revenue targets. You will help the team focus on the right accounts, understand where each opportunity stands, and prioritize the actions most likely to move opportunities forward through a longer public sector sales cycle.
- Lead and develop the team. You will lead a growing commercial team that includes sales and marketing contributors. You will create the structure, coaching, and accountability needed for the team to perform, helping team members strengthen discovery, follow-up, sales fundamentals, and confidence in complex opportunities.
- Strengthen pipeline and sales discipline. You will improve how opportunities are tracked, reviewed, followed up on, and advanced. You will bring consistency to CRM usage, pipeline visibility, forecasting, and sales reporting so the team has a clear and accurate view of prospects, priorities, next steps, and progress against goals.
- Connect marketing to revenue. You will guide marketing activity that supports sales growth, including webinars, conferences, sponsorships, campaigns, brand awareness, and lead generation. You will ensure marketing efforts align with sales priorities, buyer needs, and market opportunities.
- Support strategic sales opportunities. You will stay close to active opportunities, contribute to customer conversations, support account strategy, and sell directly where it makes sense. You will help the team navigate longer timelines, budget cycles, procurement steps, and multi-stakeholder decisions without relying solely on formal RFP processes.
- Grow customer relationships. You will identify ways to expand within the existing customer base by introducing additional investment, debt, and cash management solutions. You will help the team recognize where one product relationship can create opportunities with another buyer, department, or business need within the same organization.
- Bring market insight back into the business. You will stay close to customer needs, competitor activity, and changing market dynamics. You will use what you learn to influence sales strategy, marketing priorities, positioning, and future opportunities for product growth and AI-enabled enhancements.
You bring
- The sales and marketing expertise. You have experience leading sales and marketing in a software or B2B technology environment, with accountability for pipeline, conversion, revenue growth, or commercial performance. You can translate business goals into focused sales strategies, team priorities, and marketing plans that generate qualified opportunities and support growth. Experience selling to or marketing within public sector markets such as municipalities, utilities, transportation agencies, airports, or government organizations is an asset. Experience selling to finance, treasury, accounting, investment, or operational leaders is an asset.
- The people leadership. You have led, coached, or developed sales and marketing team members, helping people build skill, confidence, and accountability. You can set clear expectations, give useful feedback, and create a team rhythm that supports progress through longer sales cycles and setbacks. You bring structure to pipeline reviews, forecasting, reporting, handoffs, follow-up, and performance conversations.
- The complex sales judgment. You understand consultative sales environments with longer timelines, multiple stakeholders, budget considerations, and the need for sustained follow-up. You can help a team assess opportunity quality, navigate buyer dynamics, strengthen discovery, and move deals forward with patience and sound commercial judgment. You create consistency without slowing the team down, using process, data, and accountability to support better commercial decisions.
- The marketing mindset. You understand how marketing supports growth through brand awareness, qualified lead generation, campaigns, events, webinars, sponsorships, and thoughtful market engagement. You can connect marketing activity to sales outcomes and make practical decisions about where to invest time, budget, and team effort. You can quickly understand customer needs, buying motivations, industry trends, and competitive dynamics. You know how to translate product value into clear messaging for prospects and customers, and you can help a team connect business challenges to practical software solutions.
- The executive presence. You can present ideas clearly, negotiate effectively, manage conflict professionally, and build trust with prospects, customers, team members, and internal stakeholders. You listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and help people align on priorities, decisions, and next steps. You are resilient, practical, and motivated by the opportunity to strengthen a growing function, bringing focus, accountability, and steady leadership to a lean, collaborative, portfolio-supported environment.
