Sales Controlling Analyst (Sales Finance) – 12 Months

Our client is one of the world's leading home appliance manufacturers and is seeking a Sales Controlling Analyst to join its Finance team on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid position based in Mississauga, with in-office attendance required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and remote work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

This Sales Controlling Analyst role will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Demand Planning and Accounting to provide financial analysis and insights related to sales performance, margins, customer profitability, promotional spend and trade investments.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience working with large data sets, and a solid understanding of financial reporting, forecasting and sales controlling.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and report on sales and margin performance across customers, channels, products and customer segments.
• Prepare sales analysis, projections and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools to measure sales and margin efficiency.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing teams on analytical projects and business initiatives.
• Monitor promotional spending and help ensure business plan expenses remain within established budgets.
• Evaluate customer investments, trade spend and profitability.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to support long-term strategic initiatives and profitability targets by brand and category.
• Participate in the month-end accounting close, including preparation of accounting entries related to sales bonuses and trade spend.
• Support reporting related to sales incentive compensation calculations.
• Assist with the preparation of sales quotas.
• Complete additional short- and long-term analytical projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline required.
• Master’s degree in business administration, Finance or Accounting considered an asset.
• 3+ years of experience in sales controlling, financial analysis, commercial finance or a similar analytical role.
• Strong understanding of income statements and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with SAP is a must.
• Experience working with large data sets and developing financial reports.
• Power BI experience considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
