Sales Development & Marketing Specialist

Remote | Full-Time | $27.00–$31.00/hour

Ready to Launch Your Career in Sales & Marketing?

If you’re the kind of person who loves connecting with people, isn’t afraid to pick up the phone, enjoys learning new technology, and gets a little thrill from turning a “maybe” into a meeting—we should talk.

Verve Cloud is looking for a Sales Development & Marketing Specialist to join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience across sales development, lead generation, marketing, customer experience, and sales operations—all while working remotely with a team that believes people and relationships come first.

A Little About Verve

Verve Cloud helps businesses communicate, connect, and serve their customers through cloud-based voice, UCaaS, CCaaS, internet, fiber, and connectivity solutions.

But technology is only part of our story.

At Verve, culture matters. A lot.

We believe great companies are built when people genuinely care about the work they do and the people they do it with. Our values guide how we make decisions, serve our customers, and treat one another:

People & Relationships
?? Principle Driven
Inclusive Culture
Greater Good
Growth & Prosperity

We call it L.O.V.E. — Living Our Values Everyday.

If you’re looking for a company where you can learn, contribute, grow, and actually be known as a person—not just an employee number—you may have found your place.

What Will You Actually Do?

Your #1 mission is simple: help create new sales opportunities for Verve.

You’ll be on the front end of our sales engine—researching potential customers, reaching out, starting conversations, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling meetings for our sales team.

That means you’ll:

  • Prospect through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other outreach
  • Research companies before reaching out so your conversations are relevant
  • Respond to and qualify inbound leads from our website, campaigns, and referrals
  • Schedule qualified discovery calls and demos for our Account Executives
  • Follow up—and follow up again! Persistence is part of the game
  • Nurture older leads and find opportunities worth bringing back to life
  • Keep CRM activity, contacts, opportunities, and notes accurate and current
  • Work toward weekly and monthly activity and qualified-meeting goals
  • Share what you’re hearing from prospects so we can continually improve our messaging and marketing

But you won't only live in the sales world.

You'll also get exposure to the marketing side of the business, helping with things like social media, website updates, customer satisfaction surveys, sales campaigns, webinars, events, collateral, partner programs, and special projects.

Translation: you’re going to learn a lot.

Requirements

You Might Be Our Person If...

  • You are naturally curious, organized, dependable, and comfortable talking to people.
  • You don’t take “no” personally.
  • You can hear “not interested” and think, Okay...who’s next?
  • You’re comfortable working independently in a remote environment, but you still want to be part of a connected team.
  • You communicate well—both verbally and in writing—and you pay attention to the details.
  • You're comfortable with technology and willing to learn CRM, sales engagement, marketing, and communication tools.
  • And most importantly, you have initiative.
  • You don't need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do next.

Experience? Here's What We're Looking For

This is an entry-level opportunity, so we aren't looking for someone with 10 years of experience.

An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field is great—but it's preferred, not required.

What matters more to us is your ability to communicate, learn quickly, stay organized, handle rejection professionally, follow through, and consistently work toward a goal.

If you've worked in customer service, inside sales, business development, marketing, hospitality, retail, recruiting, or another role where you've learned how to communicate and build relationships, we'd love to hear about it.

The Details

Location: Remote
Employment: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $27.00–$31.00 per hour
Travel: Less than 10%

Because this is an hourly, non-exempt position, you'll be eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.

Why Verve?

Because we believe you should be able to grow your career without checking your personality at the door.

  • We're serious about serving our customers.
  • We're serious about results.
  • We're serious about our values.

But we also believe work can include connection, recognition, laughter, learning, and a little fun along the way.

This role gives you the opportunity to learn multiple sides of a growing business while building the foundation for a career in sales, business development, marketing, or revenue operations.

Ready to Bring Some Verve to Your Career?

If you're hungry to learn, willing to pick up the phone, comfortable hearing “no,” excited when you earn a “yes,” and looking for a place where you can grow—we'd love to meet you.

Come grow with Verve.

Verve Cloud is an equal opportunity employer. We believe different perspectives, backgrounds, experiences, and ideas make our team—and our company—stronger.
