Show job description
Job Description: Inbound Sales & Operations Associate

Company: TinyBooks

Location: Bangalore (partially work-from-office)

Reports to: Founders Directly

Employment type: Full-time

Experience: 1–3 years in inbound sales or D2C sales roles

Working days: 6 days a week. Primary days are Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Weekly off is Tuesday.

Working hours: Flexible. Customer enquiries typically peak from around 12 noon to late evening, so the role requires availability through that window.

About TinyBooks

TinyBooks designs and prints premium hardcover photobooks and coffee table books in India. We offer a fully personalised, concierge-style service: no DIY tools, no bland templates. Every book is curated for the individual customer. We are a small, fast-growing team, and our customers come to us for quality, care and attention to detail.

Role Summary

You will be the first point of contact for inbound customers who reach TinyBooks through calls, WhatsApp and Instagram. Your job is to understand what each customer wants, advise them on the right product for their project, and take them from first conversation to a confirmed order. You will also own the handover of each order to our design team, including rush orders that need fast turnaround.

We sell in the premium category. That means we close customers on the value of the product and the quality of our service, not on discounts. Discounting is not a lever you will rarely use to close a sale. We are looking for someone who is warm, consultative and confident, and who treats every enquiry as a relationship rather than a transaction.

Key Responsibilities

Inbound sales

  • Respond to inbound enquiries across calls, WhatsApp and Instagram DMs within agreed response times.
  • Qualify leads: understand the occasion, photo volume, timeline, budget and product fit.
  • Advise customers on the right product and format for their project, so they choose what suits their story and their budget.
  • Upsell where it genuinely serves the customer: larger albums, premium materials, additional pages, or add-ons that strengthen the final product. Every upsell should be justified by the customer's needs, not by a sales target.
  • Walk customers through pricing, options and timelines, and close orders at full value.
  • Build and manage the sales pipeline in Kommo, with timely follow-ups on warm leads.
  • Target: generate approximately ₹4-5L in pipeline per month.

Order completion (conversation to confirmed brief)

  • Take each customer from the initial conversation to a complete brief: photos uploaded, album size confirmed, design language agreed, number of pages confirmed, and cover options shortlisted.
  • Chase missing inputs (photos, choices, approvals) promptly so that orders do not stall at the brief stage.
  • Hand over a complete, accurate brief to the design team. Once handed over, the design stage is theirs to run.

Rush orders

  • Own timely delivery of rush orders end to end.
  • Coordinate with the design team to secure priority slots and with the shipping facility to dispatch on time.
  • Flag deadline risks early, especially for customers with event-linked timelines.

Records

  • Keep customer records and order notes clean and current in Kommo or any other CRM.

Design support (Canva)

  • Help customers who have designed their own albums in Canva: check files for print readiness, guide them on export settings and formats, and flag issues before production.
  • Support the team with simple Canva-based visual tasks as needed.
Who You Are

Must have

  • 1–3 years of experience in inbound sales or D2C sales, or a similar client-facing role.
  • Clear, confident communication in English and Hindi, plus one regional language they are comfortable with.
  • Comfortable with phone calls, WhatsApp and Instagram as sales channels.
  • Confident enough to upsell and to hold price on a premium product.
  • Working knowledge of Canva.
  • Strong follow-through and organisation. You keep track of many conversations at once without dropping any.
  • Comfortable working weekends and a 6-day week.
  • Own laptop.

Good to have

  • Experience with a CRM (Kommo, HubSpot, Zoho or similar).
  • Prior exposure to e-commerce, print, design or creative services.
  • An eye for visual quality. You notice when something looks off.

Personal qualities

  • Consultative rather than pushy. Customers should trust you.
  • Calm under pressure, especially when a customer's deadline is tight.
  • Self-driven, with a sense of ownership over your numbers.
Compensation

Component Details

Base salary ₹20,000 per month

Variable 3% of closed sales in the month, paid on total closed sales once they reach the ₹2L monthly hurdle

Example: If closed sales in a month are below ₹2L, your in-hand is ₹20,000 with no variable. If you close ₹3.5L in a month, your variable is ₹10,500 (3% of ₹3.5L), and your in-hand is ₹30,500.

Sales are counted on closed orders, not pipeline. Compensation is transparent and tied to results. We will walk through how the variable is calculated and tracked before you join.
