About Engenious University
Engenious University helps QA professionals future-proof their careers by teaching the skills needed to test AI and to work with AI. Our AI Career Accelerator path takes manual testers, automation engineers and QA leads into AI QA through live, instructor-led cohorts taught by engineers who do this work every day.
The path has four offers, and part of this role is matching each person to the right one:
- Break Into AI Testing – our flagship 5-week live bootcamp for QA professionals moving into AI testing
- AI Security Engineer: Red Teaming & Agentic AI Defense – a live cohort for people ready to go deeper into AI security
- AI SDET Transformation – a small guided program for experienced automation engineers moving into AI SDET roles
- AI Career Booster – a self-paced membership with course updates and mentorship
We do not just sell courses. We help professionals reposition themselves for more stable, higher-value careers in the AI era.
About the role
We are looking for a proactive, resourceful and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to grow enrollments across our programs, starting with the January 2027 Break Into AI Testing cohort.
This is not a passive inbound-only role. You own the top and middle of the funnel: finding and qualifying leads, starting real conversations, booking consultations that actually happen, and handing each one to the closer with a short, sharp brief. You also own the follow-up, so warm leads don't go cold between the call and the decision. You do not close – pricing and enrollment conversations sit with our closers – but you need to know our programs well and explain them clearly.
You will work closely with marketing, leadership and our instructors, turning community engagement, webinars, workshops, roundtables and outbound prospecting into real sales conversations.
- Location: remote, full-time, on US Eastern hours (core 10am–6pm ET, Mon–Fri), with some evenings and weekends around webinars and cohort launches
- Market: US-based QA and software professionals
Key responsibilities
Find and start conversations
- Source new leads through LinkedIn (including Sales Navigator), Discord, QA communities, webinars, workshops, roundtables and events
- Reactivate past leads and webinar attendees already in our CRM before each cohort launch
- Reach out by LinkedIn (including conversations under our CEO's profile, in his voice), email, phone, WhatsApp and SMS; reply to leads within 4 business hours and keep every thread moving until it ends in a call or a clear no
- Run follow-up for webinar, workshop and roundtable registrants, including no-shows
Qualify and route
- Learn each person's situation first: current role, years in QA, automation experience, goals, urgency, budget and whether they can attend live weekend sessions
- Route each lead to the right offer – a cohort, AI SDET Transformation, the AI Career Booster, or a later cohort – and be honest when something is not a fit
- Explain each program clearly – who it is for, format, schedule and what is included – and answer common questions accurately, leaving price negotiation and discounts to the closer
- Hand qualified leads to the closer with a short written brief: background, goal, why now, fit and the main objection
- Book the consultation with the right closer and confirm it so the call actually happens
Keep the pipeline clean and improving
- Keep every lead, call, outcome and lead source accurate in HubSpot, every day
- Build and improve outreach cadences and HubSpot sequences with marketing
- Represent our programs and outcomes accurately: no job guarantees and no figures beyond what we have approved
- Use AI and automation to research prospects, prioritise follow-ups and write better outreach
- Test new SDR plays, measure them and share what works with the team
What we are looking for
- 3+ years in an SDR, BDR, inside sales or lead-generation role, with numbers you can show us
- Proven prospecting and qualification skills, and a habit of asking questions before pitching
- Strong written English: you can write a LinkedIn or WhatsApp message that gets a reply
- Confident spoken English on calls with experienced US tech professionals
- Daily, disciplined CRM use, ideally HubSpot
- Ability to work US Eastern hours as described above
- Ownership: you follow up without being chased and you flag problems early
- Comfort in a small team where processes are still being built
- Real interest in AI, QA, software testing or tech careers – you will learn our programs well enough to explain them and answer questions confidently without a script
- Willingness to use AI tools and automation in your daily workflow
Preferred qualifications
- Experience selling high-ticket education, bootcamps, coaching or career programs to individuals
- Experience selling to the US market
- HubSpot sequences, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and WhatsApp Business
- Background in tech, SaaS, QA or software development
- Experience turning webinar, event or community engagement into booked calls
- B2C or hybrid B2C/B2B sales experience
Success in this role looks like
- A steady weekly flow of qualified consultations that actually happen, not just bookings
- Social, community and event engagement turned into real conversations
- Every lead routed to the offer that fits them
- Better lead-to-call and call-to-enrollment conversion, cohort after cohort
- Cohort seats filled for each launch
- A clean HubSpot pipeline anyone on the team can trust
- New ideas that improve the SDR and sales process over time
Your first 90 days
- Days 1–30: learn our programs and sales playbook, pass a product-knowledge review with our CEO, work through the existing pipeline and run your first consultations
- Days 31–60: own outreach and follow-up for the January 2027 Break Into AI Testing launch
- Days 61–90: help fill the January cohort, start outreach for the March 2027 AI Security cohort, and bring one tested improvement to the process
Why join Engenious University
- Sell a career-transformation product that matters to the people who buy it
- Work directly with the CEO, marketing and instructors who are practising engineers
- Clear sell cycles: six cohorts planned for 2027, so you always know what you are selling and when
- Freedom to test new strategies and shape how our sales process works
- A team where outbound creativity and initiative are valued
