Alpha Compute is building infrastructure for a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence: compute, data, privacy, security, and the question of who ultimately controls the systems intelligence runs on.

We're seeking a highly technical and commercially savvy Sales Engineer to serve as a key driver of our growth strategy, directly supporting the sales organization and partnering with Account Executives and Strategic Sales leadership.

You are the technical linchpin supporting the broader sales organization, bridging the gap between complex AI hardware capabilities and customers' business objectives.

With a deep understanding of the AI compute lifecycle and strong industry relationships, you'll translate complex client workloads — AI training and inference — into precise infrastructure configurations for engineering leaders and procurement officers alike.

Technical Sales & Solution Architecture: articulate technical advantages and value propositions to technical audiences (CTOs, ML engineers, data center architects) and non-technical audiences alike, mapping customer AI workloads to hardware configurations such as NVIDIA H100/B200 clusters and InfiniBand networking.

Sales Organization Support: serve as the primary technical resource for Account Executives and the VP of Strategic Sales during client engagements.

BOM Review & Validation: meticulously review and validate complex Bills of Materials from hardware OEMs and compute brokers for technical accuracy and component compatibility.

Strategic Business Development: partner with the sales team to identify, qualify, and secure new business, generating unique value propositions.

Cost-Benefit & TCO Analysis: research, model, and present financial cost-benefit and ROI reports against alternative cloud or on-premise deployments.

Proposal & RFP Development: serve as technical lead on proposals, bids, and RFI/RFP responses.

Relationship Management: cultivate relationships with customer engineering leads, technical brokers, and OEM partners.

Market Intelligence & Technical Trendspotting: track industry trends, high-density electronics, AI hardware roadmaps, and thermal management and liquid cooling developments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Industry Representation: work with internal data center engineering, deployment, and quality teams, and represent Alpha Compute at trade shows and technical conferences.

5–7 years of technical sales or pre-sales engineering experience in GPUaaS, AI hardware, or data center markets

Experience: a minimum of 5–7 years of successful technical sales or pre-sales engineering experience within GPUaaS, AI hardware, IaaS, or wholesale data center markets; prior experience with major hardware OEMs (e.g. SuperMicro, Dell) is a strong plus.

Technical Acumen: a deep, demonstrable understanding of GPUs, storage architectures, and high-performance networking (InfiniBand, Ethernet), including the physical constraints of AI infrastructure such as power density and thermal management.

BOM & Supply Chain Savvy: proven experience reviewing, auditing, and pricing extensive hardware Bills of Materials.

Certifications: active NVIDIA certifications (e.g. NVIDIA Certified Professional, DLI credentials) are highly desirable.

Communication & Presentation: exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to present complex technical architectures to C-suite executives and lead engineers.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking: strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required by federal or defense-adjacent clients.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science preferred) or a related technical field; relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
