The ideal candidate has a verifiable track record selling third-party logistics (3PL) services, including e-commerce fulfillment and B2B distribution, and is prepared to manage the full sales cycle from first contact through onboarding. As the most senior individual contributor on the Sales Executive career path, this role works autonomously against solution- and project-level goals, takes on the organization's most advanced and complex opportunities, and provides a leadership role within the Business Development team through depth of industry knowledge. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Full Cycle Sales Management: Manage the entire sales process from initial prospecting and lead qualification through solution development, proposal presentation, contract negotiation, and close, working autonomously with goals communicated in solution or project terms. Pipeline Development: Research and profile potential sales targets to evaluate leads and build a self-sourced pipeline, using cold calling, prospecting, and field sales activity to initiate contact and assess customer needs. Target Market Focus: Actively prospect and sell customized solutions to companies in two primary segments: E-commerce Fulfillment (DTC/D2C): Targeting high-growth brands needing advanced services (pick/pack, shipping, returns, technology integration). B2B Distribution: Targeting established brands needing warehousing, retail compliance, and value-added services (kitting, assembly, repackaging). Solution Design & Proposal: Conduct deep-dive needs assessments to understand prospects' supply chain challenges (e.g., high shipping costs, slow delivery times, inventory inaccuracy). Work cross-functionally with Operations and IT to design and present tailored, cost-effective fulfillment proposals. Sales Presentations & Demonstrations: Prepare and deliver presentations and demonstrations that educate customers on Knight-Swift's full range of offerings and advance the sales process. Complex Opportunity Leadership: Lead advanced, complex opportunities and business issues that require current, specialized industry knowledge, including multi-site, multi-service, and non-standard solutions. Quota Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas with a goal of closing $10+ Million annually. Product and Competitive Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding of company products and services, competitor positioning, and industry standards, and use that knowledge to position Knight-Swift effectively. Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the sales process to ensure a smooth transaction and a positive customer experience through onboarding. Knowledge Leadership: Serve as a subject matter resource to the Business Development team, providing informal guidance, deal support, and knowledge sharing to less experienced Sales Executives. CRM Management: Maintain meticulous records of all sales activity, client communication, and pipeline stage management within the CRM system (e.g., HubSpot). Market Strategy: Provide valuable market feedback and competitive insights to the Marketing team to help drive leads, working closely with Marketing for strategic alignment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent sales experience considered in lieu of a degree. 10+ years of verifiable sales experience within the Third-Party Logistics (3PL), Fulfillment, or Supply Chain industry. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously against solution- or project-level goals and to lead advanced, complex opportunities requiring state-of-the-art industry knowledge. Proven ability to sell complex logistics services, specifically e-commerce fulfillment and general B2B distribution. Strong understanding of modern warehousing technology (WMS, APIs, e-commerce platform integrations). Familiarity with common value-added services (kitting, labeling, returns processing). Working knowledge of competitor positioning and industry standards within 3PL and fulfillment. Proven ability to self-source pipeline through cold calling, prospecting, and disciplined customer acquisition. Strong command of sales presentations, product demonstrations, and written proposals that advance opportunities toward close. Exceptional negotiation, contract negotiation, and closing skills on complex, multi-service deals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly and persuasively. Proven success in a field-based sales role, including in-person customer meetings, client site visits, and facility tours. Highly driven, results-oriented, and capable of working independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. Proficient in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot), Microsoft Office Suite, and company-approved AI and sales enablement tools.
