Sales Executive - Latin America
Ossiano Capital is a senior trade finance partner within the Copap Group, founded in 1989. For more than four decades we have participated directly in global trade, financing the physical flow of the real economy - metals, chemicals, machinery, food, industrial inputs - across more than 50 countries. We are hiring a Sales Executive to lead our growth across Latin America.
ABOUT OSSIANO CAPITAL
Ossiano Capital is a specialist trade finance house headquartered in Montreal, Canada, with an operating presence across the Americas, Europe, MENA, and Asia. Our specialty is Trade Payable financing and supplier financing: suppliers get paid faster, buyers keep extended payment terms, and the entire chain gains working capital, free cash flow, and liquidity.
We finance the physical trade of the real economy - the base metals, organic chemicals, food, industrial machinery, and specialty products that move through ports every day. Our clients include mid-market exporters, large industrial buyers, family-owned commodity houses, and multinational manufacturers. Our capital sits between them, absorbing the payment gap that would otherwise slow down commerce.
Four decades of unbroken participation in global commerce has built a team that thinks in cycles rather than quarters. Our clients are serious exporters, industrial buyers, and treasury teams. Our counterparties value substance over sales theater. Our safety record across cycles has been earned through disciplined structuring and a steady hand.
This role expands our on-the-ground origination across Latin America - one of the most active corridors in our four-decade footprint. LATAM commodity exports have grown steadily through recent cycles, with strong flows in copper, lithium, iron ore, soy, coffee, sugar, ethanol, and specialty chemicals. The region's exporters increasingly need working capital solutions that respect their extended sell-side terms while keeping their buyers on standard payment cycles. That is precisely the space we occupy.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a results-driven senior sales professional to lead growth across Latin America. You will originate, structure, and close Trade Payable and supply chain financing transactions with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and large industrial buyers across the region.
You will own the regional pipeline, expand our client base, and represent Ossiano to C-level executives, treasurers, procurement leaders, and finance teams at mid-market industrial and commodity exporters. This is a senior closer profile - a seat at the table from day one, with direct ownership of your corridor.
The right person combines corporate finance acumen with deep familiarity of Latin American markets: the regulatory landscape, the counterparty culture, the commodity flows, and the language of the boardroom.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prospect, originate, and close new Trade Payable financing and supply chain financing opportunities with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and large buyers across Latin America.
• Develop and execute a regional sales plan to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals.
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM systems such as Salesforce. Qualify leads, forecast accurately, and maintain timely activity metrics.
• Establish and nurture strategic relationships with C-level executives, procurement leaders, finance teams, and treasury professionals at client companies.
• Conduct needs assessments, deliver compelling value propositions, and present tailored proposals and risk-adjusted ROE analyses.
• Lead end-to-end deal cycles: structuring terms, coordinating with credit, risk, legal, and operations teams, and guiding client onboarding.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations to tailor solutions to LATAM markets and ensure client success.
• Monitor regulatory, compliance, and tax considerations across countries. Ensure adherence to AML and KYC, anti-corruption, and local financial regulations.
• Develop and maintain market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and trends. Adjust strategy accordingly.
• Represent Ossiano at industry events, conferences, webinars, and client-facing meetings.
• Prepare executive-level proposals and contract negotiations. Manage renewal and expansion opportunities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Five or more years of B2B sales experience in Latin America, preferably in financial services, credit risk insurance, private credit, or supply chain financing / Trade Payable financing.
• Demonstrated success selling complex financial solutions to suppliers and buyers, with a proven track record of closing mid-to-large transactions.
• Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese is highly valued, particularly for the Brazil market.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and consultative selling skills.
• Experience selling across multi-country LATAM environments and navigating diverse regulatory landscapes.
CORE COMPETENCIES
• Account-led, consultative and advisory selling.
• Financial structuring and credit fluency.
• Cross-functional collaboration with credit, risk, legal, and operations.
• Cultural intelligence across Latin American markets.
LANGUAGES
• Spanish: Required
• English: Required
• Portuguese: Highly valued
NICE TO HAVE
• An existing network of supplier and buyer counterparties across LATAM trade corridors.
• Prior experience working in or with Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, or Argentina.
• Knowledge of Latin American commodity flows: base metals, organic chemicals, and high-value agri-commodities.
• Established relationships with treasury and procurement leaders at mid-market industrial exporters.
• Prior experience with structured trade finance, receivables discounting, or supplier financing platforms.
WORKING WITH US
Location: Remote-friendly, with local base options across Latin America. We favor proximity to the counterparties you cover.
Travel: Extensive regional travel across LATAM, approximately 40 to 60 per cent. Trade finance is a relationship business, and this role is built on being face-to-face with counterparties.
Reporting: Direct line to the Head of Origination.
Team: You will work alongside a senior trade finance team with decades of direct market participation. Ossiano operates without the layers and process drag of larger institutions. You will own real client relationships, real deal flow, and real decisions from the outset.
YOUR FIRST 12 MONTHS
Months 1 to 3: Onboarding and market immersion. You will be paired with our senior origination team and product leaders to build a working knowledge of our credit structures, pricing frameworks, and portfolio approach. In parallel, you will map your target counterparties across LATAM: the exporters, the buyers, the treasury and procurement leaders, and the intermediaries who move deals.
Months 3 to 6: Active pipeline build. You will begin originating live transactions, running client meetings across the region, and structuring your first Trade Payable facilities alongside our credit and legal teams. Expect two to four face-to-face client trips per month.
Months 6 to 12: Portfolio development. By the end of your first year you will have closed and onboarded multiple clients, built a repeatable origination motion in your primary countries, and be actively expanding into adjacent LATAM corridors. Your first year is about laying the foundation for a book that compounds over the next decade.
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
Success in this role is measured by the quality and consistency of the business you build:
• Trade Payable financing volume.
• Accounts receivable.
• Average transaction size.
• Pipeline conversion rate.
• A healthy, risk-adjusted ROE portfolio.
We invest in people who plan to be in trade for the next twenty years, not the next twenty months. Tenure at Ossiano is measured in cycles, and the best work here compounds over time.
WHY OSSIANO
Four decades of direct participation in global trade have built a working style you will not find at a typical bank or fund. Our team is composed of operators, not analysts. Our clients are serious exporters and industrial buyers - counterparties who reward substance and long relationships.
This is a role for a senior closer who wants direct ownership of a region, a genuine seat at the table, and the platform of a four-decade institution behind them. You will build a body of work here, not chase a quarterly number.
If you want to work where trade actually moves - where the cargo, the corridor, and the counterparty are the substance of the day - we want to hear from you.
WHO THRIVES HERE
Trade finance is a slow-build business. The people who succeed at Ossiano tend to share a few instincts:
• They see a trade as a physical thing first - the cargo, the port, the counterparty, the season - not just a set of numbers on a term sheet.
• They read counterparties well. They know how a Brazilian sugar mill thinks differently from a Mexican auto parts exporter, and they adjust accordingly.
• They ask sharp questions early. They surface risks before they surface in the credit committee.
• They are comfortable working autonomously across time zones and countries, with a senior team a message away.
• They value tenure. They plan to build a body of work over a decade, not a résumé line over a quarter.
If that reads like you, you will feel at home here.
