About AccessE11

AccessE11 is a citizen request management platform for small and mid-sized municipalities. When a resident reports a pothole, a bylaw issue or a broken streetlight, AccessE11 is how the town captures it, routes it to the right crew, keeps the resident updated and reports the results to Council. It brings together a public portal, an internal CRM, GIS mapping, a mobile app for field staff and two-way email and SMS.

We're an Ottawa company, operating since 2014, with more than 100 customers across Canada and the United States. Our buyers are CAOs, clerks, town managers and department heads: practical people who are short on staff and time, and who want software that just works.

We're a small team that punches above its weight because we run sales and marketing AI-first. You'll talk to customers and prospects every week, and the campaigns you run will show up directly in our pipeline.

How we work: AI-first, with Claude Code

Claude Code is the engine of our sales and marketing. It isn't a chatbot we open now and then. It's where the work gets done, every day:

  • Specialist agents for campaigns, CRM and revenue operations, LinkedIn, webinars, events, the website and RFP responses
  • Skills that turn repeatable work into one request: a LinkedIn post from a topic, webinar registrants into CRM records, a demo briefing note, the weekly revenue pre-read
  • Direct connections to Zoho CRM, Zoho Campaigns, Microsoft 365, WordPress and LinkedIn, so research, drafting, data work and reporting happen in one place
  • Scheduled tasks that build our recurring reports and scans before anyone asks for them
  • Written rules that capture what we've learned (our voice, our sending rules, our CRM conventions), so every piece of work starts from our best thinking

You'll inherit this setup on day one, and you'll be expected to make it better: sharpen the skills, build new ones, and retire what no longer earns its place. We change how we work every week, and we want someone who loves that.

The role

This is one job that covers both sides of how we grow: finding and nurturing the municipalities that should be using AccessE11, and helping turn that interest into booked demos and signed contracts. Claude Code runs through all of it.

Expect the time to split roughly half marketing and half sales, shifting with the calendar. Webinar weeks and newsletter weeks lean marketing; quarter-end and budget season lean sales.

What you'll do:

Sales

  • Follow up with municipalities that have registered for a webinar, downloaded content or asked for information, by phone and email
  • Run outbound call and email blocks into target regions and keep the conversation going until there's a demo booked or a clear "not now"
  • Book demos, send the briefing and follow-up material, and keep each deal moving with clear next steps
  • Keep Zoho CRM accurate: contacts, accounts, deals, tasks and notes, so anyone on the team can pick up where you left off
  • Help prepare quotes, proposals and RFP responses alongside Ken and Rene
  • Support trade shows and association events, before, during and after

Marketing

  • Plan and send email campaigns in Zoho Campaigns, including The Front Counter, our monthly newsletter
  • Run our webinar program: topics, invitations, registration, reminders, the day itself, recordings and follow-up
  • LinkedIn Content: plan and publish our own posts on the AccessE11 company page, with a post for every blog article, webinar recording and newsletter edition
  • LinkedIn Engagement: follow what our customers, municipal associations and active prospects are posting, and join those conversations with thoughtful comments and shares
  • Keep the website Events pages current: upcoming webinars and events with registration links, then replay pages once the recordings are up
  • Write and publish blog posts on our WordPress site, and keep the rest of the website content current
  • Edit webinar recordings and short video clips, and create simple graphics for posts and emails
  • Report each month on what's working: opens, registrations, demos booked and pipeline created

AI and automation

  • Do your daily sales and marketing work through Claude Code: research, prospect lists, CRM updates, campaign builds, content drafts and reporting
  • Build and improve Claude Code skills, agents and scheduled tasks whenever you spot work that repeats
  • Review everything AI produces with a sharp eye before it reaches a customer: the judgment and the final call are yours
  • Keep our written rules current, so what you learn on Tuesday makes Wednesday's work better
  • Try new models, features and tools as they arrive, and share what works with the team

How we'll measure success

  • Demos booked and qualified opportunities created
  • Webinar registrations and attendance
  • Email engagement, and the health of our sending reputation
  • A CRM that's clean enough to trust
  • A steady, reliable publishing rhythm across email, LinkedIn, the blog and the Events pages
  • Hours given back to the team through the skills and automations you build or improve

What you bring

  • A good working understanding of Claude Code. You've used it for real work, not just tried it. You're comfortable with the terminal, prompting, files and folders, and you know what skills, agents and MCP connectors are and how to use them. Experience applying it to sales or marketing is a strong plus
  • An AI-first instinct. Your first question about any task is how AI can do it faster or better, and your second is how to check that it did
  • A drive to learn and iterate. You enjoy trying something, measuring it, and improving it next week. You keep up with what's new in AI because you want to, not because you're told to
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in B2B sales, marketing, business development or a mix. Software or public-sector experience is a strong plus
  • Clear, warm writing. You can write an email a busy CAO will actually read, and a LinkedIn post that sounds like a person. You can tell when AI-drafted copy sounds like AI, and you fix it
  • Confidence on the phone. You're comfortable calling someone you've never met and having a useful conversation
  • CRM discipline. Experience with Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce or similar, and the habit of logging what happened
  • Comfort with marketing tools: email platforms, WordPress or another CMS, Canva or similar
  • Organization. You can run a webinar campaign, a newsletter and a call list in the same week without dropping any of them
  • Curiosity about local government. You'll learn how municipalities budget, buy and make decisions

Nice to have

  • Experience selling to, or working in, municipalities or other public-sector organizations
  • French. Working French helps with municipalities in New Brunswick and Quebec
  • Some scripting (Python or JavaScript) or experience working with APIs
  • Webinar platforms (Microsoft Teams webinars or similar) and basic video editing
  • B2B SaaS experience

Early in your career?

If you don't yet have the sales and marketing experience above but you're already building real things with Claude Code, you write well, learn fast and you're not afraid to pick up the phone, apply anyway and show us what you've built. We'd rather meet a great candidate than tick every box.

What we offer

  • $90,000 CAD base salary plus $30,000 to $40,000 in commission, for on-target earnings of up to $130,000
  • Robust health and dental benefits
  • Three weeks of vacation
  • Remote work, based in Ottawa
  • A mature Claude Code setup to start from, and the room to shape how an AI-first sales and marketing team works
  • A small team where your work is visible and you'll learn every part of how a software company grows

Our hiring process

  1. Resume review. We review every resume we receive
  2. A short web meeting. If your background looks like a fit, we'll invite you to a short video call to get to know each other
  3. Interviews. If that goes well, you'll interview with our CEO and, most likely, one or two other members of the team
  4. Offer. If we're both happy, we'll make you an offer and work out a start date together
  • We can't reply to every applicant individually. If you reach the web meeting, though, we'll always follow up and let you know the outcome.
