Who we are:

Rubric is Australia’s fastest growing student success platform that now serves over 2,000 student organizations to over 500,000 students across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, UK and the US.

Campus Life administrators (Student Affairs - Campus Life or Student Engagement department) and Student Organizations (Clubs & Student groups) leverage Rubric’s platform to widen access to funding, increase student participation and accelerate student engagement from enrollment to graduation. Rubric’s modular platform allows institutions to manage their administration needs and focus on student engagement initiatives, to manage and improve student retention.

About the role:

We are expanding our presence in the United States and are looking for an energetic, confident and highly personable individual to represent Rubric at higher education conferences and industry events across the country. This role is predominantly focused on generating qualified sales opportunities, building relationships and booking meetings for Rubric’s US sales team. You will work closely with our US Sales Director, who manages the broader pipeline and progresses opportunities through the sales process.

How we operate:

We’re not your typical corporate structure with rigid processes and fixed job descriptions. We are a fast-growing company where agility, adaptability, and ownership are key. Everyone on our team wears multiple hats, and we thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities shift, challenges arise, and solutions are built on the go.

As a US Sales Representative, you won’t just be attending events, you’ll be the face of Rubric across the US higher education market. You’ll build relationships with university and student organisation leaders, identify qualified opportunities and turn conference conversations into meaningful meetings for our sales team. Working closely with our US Sales Lead and wider global team, you’ll help grow Rubric’s presence, strengthen our pipeline and create new opportunities in the US market.

We expect you to take initiative, work autonomously, and feel confident representing Rubric in fast-paced conference environments. In return, you’ll have the freedom to build relationships in your own style, the opportunity to travel across the United States and internationally, and the chance to play a direct role in shaping Rubric’s growth in a major new market. If you’re outgoing, commercially minded, and excited by the opportunity to turn conversations into genuine business opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conference Representation: Attend higher education conferences, association events and relevant networking opportunities across the United States predominantly, with some international opportunities
  • Lead Generation: Proactively engage attendees, identify relevant prospects and generate qualified sales opportunities for the US Sales Team.
  • Meeting Bookings: Secure discovery calls, product demonstrations and follow-up meetings for Rubric’s US Sales Lead.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with university administrators, student affairs professionals, student organisation leaders and other relevant decision makers.
  • Product Communication: Clearly and confidently explain Rubric’s platform, key modules, customer outcomes and value proposition.
  • Conference Preparation: Research attendees, institutions and priority accounts before each event to maximise the quality of conversations and opportunities generated.
  • Event Follow-Up: Capture detailed notes, contact information, areas of interest and agreed next steps following each interaction.
  • Pipeline Collaboration: Work closely with the US Sales Lead to ensure conference leads are appropriately qualified, prioritised and progressed through the sales pipeline.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and timely records of prospects, meetings, conversations and follow-up activities within Rubric’s CRM.
  • Market Feedback: Share insights from conferences and customer conversations regarding market needs, competitor activity, product requirements and emerging trends.
  • Brand Representation: Represent Rubric professionally and enthusiastically at all conferences, meetings and networking events.
  • Global Sales Team: Collaborate with Rubric’s wider sales and leadership team across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, partnerships and events
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence approaching and engaging new people in busy conference environments.
  • Ability to quickly understand customer needs and communicate a clear value proposition.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently in a remote role.
  • Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a Sales Lead who will manage and progress the broader US sales pipeline.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipeline management.
  • Experience within higher education, student affairs, student organisations or education technology would be highly regarded.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the United States, including occasional evening and weekend commitments associated with conferences.

Remuneration:

  • Competitive Remuneration package + benefits
  • Travel Expenses: All approved conference registrations, flights, accommodation, meals, client sponsorship funds and ground transportation will be fully covered by Rubric.
