Engagement: Contract, full-time (~40 hrs/week) through January 2027 go-live

Overview

We're seeking a Senior SAP PP-PI and QM Consultant to join an S/4HANA rollout for a global specialty chemical manufacturer. The client has already deployed its SAP template several times across Europe and Asia, and this rollout is now in the testing phase ahead of a January go-live. You'll join the PP/QM team midstream, quickly take ownership of open items, and contribute from day one.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of open PP-PI and QM items from the first round of system integration testing (SIT1), including realization items, defects, and change requests
• Support SIT2, UAT, cutover, and go-live for both modules
• Analyze, architect, configure, test, deploy, and document solutions for gaps identified in the fit-gap workshops
• Work within the client's existing global template and structured implementation methodology, ensuring compliance rather than redesigning
• Partner with the client's internal team, the project manager, and other SAP workstreams (MM, WM/EWM, SD, FI/CO) on cross-module dependencies
• Produce detailed functional specifications, configuration documentation, and test scripts
• Provide support during the holiday period and go-live

Required Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA PP-PI (process industry). Discrete-manufacturing PP alone does not qualify.
• Deep experience in SAP QM, including inspection plans, quality notifications, and certificate processing
• Strong chemical industry knowledge: process manufacturing, typical master data, MSDS, Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and LIMS integration
• Experience working within a global template rollout, with a willingness to comply fully with a structured, template-driven approach
• Experience supporting SIT and UAT, including defect resolution
• Fluent English
• Ability to architect, configure, test, deploy, and document solutions for identified gaps
• Own laptop with working camera and microphone, current SAP GUI, MS Office, and MS Teams, plus the ability to install and configure software such as VPN and Remote Desktop

Preferred Qualifications

• German or Italian language skills
• Prior S/4HANA rollout or template deployment experience in chemicals, pharma, coatings, or a similar process industry
• Experience with batch management, EHS, and quality integration with production
