Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- 10+ years of SAP experience with deep expertise in international trade compliance and SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS).
- Minimum two end-to-end SAP GTS implementations, including solution architecture ownership and integration with SAP S/4HANA.
- Expertise in sanctioned party list screening, embargo checks, import/export legal control, license determination, and document blocking and release.
- Strong experience with customs management for imports and exports, customs declarations, transit, special customs procedures, duty calculation, and customs authority communication.
- Experience with product classification including commodity codes, tariff numbers, export control classifications, license-relevance data, and country-specific attributes.
- Strong knowledge of preference processing, free trade agreements, rules of origin, supplier declarations, and preference determination.
- Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA sales, purchasing, delivery, billing, material, business partner, transportation, warehouse, and finance data with SAP GTS.
- Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, BIS, EU dual-use controls, denied-party screening, and other global trade regulations relevant to a multinational manufacturer.
- Experience with screening-list and regulatory-content providers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, EDI, customs connections, and government interfaces.
- Experience with SAP Fiori, workflows, roles and authorizations, audit trails, APIs/interfaces, SAP AIF, output, analytics, and SAP BTP integration patterns.
- Experience with master-data migration, transactional migration, reconciliation, testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and legacy GTS transition or upgrade.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Activate, global template governance, clean-core principles, and complex global manufacturing transformation programs.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Trade Compliance and SAP GTS solution architecture for the program, aligned with enterprise architecture and the global process template.
- Lead fit-to-standard workshops with Global Trade, Legal, Export Compliance, Customs, Logistics, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Security, and IT stakeholders.
- Define the target architecture for sanctioned party screening, embargo checking, import/export control, license management, customs management, and trade preference processing.
- Design integration between SAP S/4HANA and SAP GTS for business partners, products, sales orders, purchase orders, deliveries, billing, customs, transportation, and financial processes.
- Define screening rules, matching thresholds, periodic rescreening, blocked-document worklists, release controls, audit trails, and escalation workflows.
- Design product classification governance for commodity codes, tariff numbers, export control classifications, license relevance, and regulatory attributes.
- Define import and export license determination, quantity and value depreciation, validity controls, exception handling, and compliance evidence requirements.
- Design customs declaration, customs warehousing, foreign trade zone, transit, broker, authority-message, duty, and special-procedure processes as applicable.
- Define preference and origin processes, including agreements, bills of material, rules of origin, long-term supplier declarations, and preference statements.
- Assess legacy foreign-trade and GTS capabilities, define transition architecture, and lead master and transactional data migration and reconciliation.
- Guide WRICEF, interfaces, forms, workflows, security, analytics, Fiori, AIF, customs connections, and BTP designs while protecting clean-core objectives.
- Partner with SAP, legal and compliance teams, customs brokers, content providers, and vendors to resolve regulatory, product, and integration dependencies.
- Lead architecture reviews, end-to-end testing, defect resolution, mock cutovers, deployment readiness, go-live, and hypercare.
- Proactively identify regulatory and delivery risks, drive decisions, mentor teams, and communicate architecture recommendations to Helix leadership.
