SAP Technical Specialist
iTechScopeOur client is a fast-growing, multi-location pharmaceutical organization operating across Greece and international markets. In line with continuous operational expansion and an enterprise-wide migration to SAP aimed at standardizing and optimizing business processes, they are looking for an in-house specialist who bridges hands-on ABAP technical development with internal functional support and user enablement.
The Role
You will join the company’s internal SAP team within the IT department to serve as a key technical reference point, bridging hands-on ABAP development with user enablement and internal coordination.
Working collaboratively alongside your SAP team peers and external consultants, you will play a pivotal role in your first six months during the post-migration hypercare phase from Business Central to SAP, handling custom development, configuring approval workflows, supporting day-to-day user requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain custom SAP ABAP solutions, reports, interfaces, and enhancements aligned with operational needs.
- Configure and optimize approval workflows, user authorisations, and basic master data settings across core business processes.
- Support the hypercare phase of the SAP rollout, troubleshooting day-to-day user requests, conducting root-cause analysis, and resolving operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with the existing internal SAP team members, system administrators, and external implementation partners on deliverables and integrations.
- Act as a technical mentor and daily reference point for an internal team colleague.
- Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios, draft technical/functional documentation, and deliver pragmatic training sessions to internal end-users.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across local and international offices to map business requirements into robust technical specifications.
What You'll Bring
- 4–5+ years of hands-on technical experience in SAP ABAP development alongside solid internal functional support exposure.
- Proven experience in workflow/approval configuration, UAT execution, report generation, and day-to-day system troubleshooting.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative, user-centric mindset for end-user training and cross-border teamwork.
- Readiness or prior experience in guiding, mentoring, or supervising junior/internal colleagues.
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline (e.g., Physics, Finance transitioning to ERP software).
- Fluency in Greek and professional working proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- Functional consulting exposure or hands-on business process understanding across SAP SD, FICO, or MM modules.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing sectors.
- Prior involvement in full-cycle ERP migration or legacy-to-SAP transition projects.
- Experience collaborating with external third-party software vendors and implementation partners.
