Job Title: Freelance SAP Business Analyst (1-Year Contract)

Location: Belgium (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an SAP WM/EWM Functional Analyst with at least 5 years of experience and a proven track record in implementation, process analysis, and hands-on data migration. You will be responsible for the configuration, testing, and support of warehouse management modules (Classic WM and/or EWM). You will work closely with warehouse supervisors to resolve daily operational issues, execute migration loads, and take ownership of specific logistics workstreams under the guidance of a Senior Architect.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Project Delivery

• Participate in full-cycle SAP WM/EWM implementations, taking ownership of specific workstreams (e.g., inbound setup, outbound picking, or physical inventory).
• Execute hands-on configuration of warehouse structures, including storage bins, storage types, and movement types based on functional specifications.
• Configure EWM processes such as wave management, pick/pack, and basic putaway/picking strategies (e.g., FIFO, fixed bin).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (MM, SD, PP) to support integration testing and ensure smooth goods receipt and goods issue flows.

2. Business Analysis & Process Optimization

• Conduct thorough analysis of warehouse end-users' pain points (e.g., scanning errors, slow putaway) and translate them into practical configuration changes.
• Proactively identify process gaps in current RF-transaction workflows and propose improvements to reduce travel time or increase accuracy.
• Document functional requirements, process flows, and detailed test scripts for new enhancements and system changes.
• Perform root-cause analysis on recurring warehouse production issues (e.g., delivery blocks, missing transfer orders) and implement sustainable fixes.

3. Data Migration & Conversion

• Actively perform data migration activities, including extraction of storage bin master data, packaging specifications, and open warehouse tasks from legacy systems.
• Utilize SAP migration tools (LTMC, LSMW) to load warehouse master data and inventory balances.
• Perform rigorous data reconciliation post-migration to ensure system stock matches physical counts.
• Support data cleansing efforts in collaboration with the warehouse operations team prior to cutover.

4. System Maintenance & Support

• Provide Tier 2/3 functional support to warehouse supervisors and power users, resolving configuration issues and RF-gun errors in a timely manner.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Post Processing Framework (PPF) actions, queue errors, and IDoc failures (e.g., DESADV inbound).
• Manage transports and coordinate system changes through the landscape (Dev-QA-Prod).
• Create and maintain user training materials, job aids, and deliver end-user training sessions for new warehouse functionalities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience as an SAP Functional Analyst in Warehouse Management/Logistics (or 3+ years with strong relevant experience).
• Experience in at least 2 full-cycle implementations (including at least 1 with EWM).
• Demonstrated involvement in at least one data migration project (Legacy-to-SAP or SAP-to-SAP).
• Solid configuration experience in:
• Classic WM: Storage types, storage sections, picking areas, and transfer orders (TO) / transfer requirements (TR).
• EWM: Warehouse structures, Product Master, Packaging Specifications, Warehouse Process Types, and basic determination rules.
• Hands-on experience with inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse movements in EWM.
• Proficiency with migration tools (LTMC and LSMW) for logistics master data.
• Working knowledge of RF framework and troubleshooting handheld scanner transactions.
• Good understanding of integration points between EWM/MM (goods receipts, consignment) and EWM/SD (delivery creation, picking).

Languages

• Fluent in English (required for collaboration).
• Fluent in French or Dutch (required for client/stakeholder communication).
