This role is client-facing and requires strong customer focus and an understanding of client needs and timelines. Essential job duties include helping scope data and analysis deliverables in collaboration with Business Development, coordinating with the Data Engineering and Bioinformatics team to stage and execute deliveries, performing quality control on outgoing data, recognizing revenue once deliveries are complete, and preparing analyses, reports, and supporting documentation. Collaborates with Business Development to enhance client relationships and facilitate continued business for Champions Oncology. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRODUCTIVITY EXPECTATIONS: Participates as the scientific technical lead in client meetings related to potential and current data and analysis opportunities, providing pre-sales support in conjunction with Business Development. Manages delivery, data access, and scoped bioinformatics analyses Defines client scientific requirements and helps define and scope deliverables for both data and analysis products and services. Understands applications of model bank data and recommends appropriate models based on client needs; suggests alternatives when necessary. Organizes onboarding meetings with clients and internal staff. Monitors ongoing engagements to ensure tasks are being completed and communicates progress updates to the client in a timely manner. Issues directives to the Data Engineering and Bioinformatics team based on data and protocol endpoints. Performs QC for data deliveries, ensures completion of transfers, and appropriate documentation. Recognizes revenue for data/studies for Finance through Salesforce. Interfaces with Business Development, Data Engineering, Computational R&D, and other Champions personnel to successfully coordinate projects from start to finish. Participates in discussions around and provides feedback for process improvement to improve quality. Represents Champions in the field at client meetings and scientific conferences. Organizes periodic program reviews with clients and makes suggestions for support based on pipeline alignment. Identifies potential new opportunities and facilitates ongoing discussions regarding new opportunities with existing clients. Delivers customer value in a timely manner, and ensures deliverables are accurate. Works independently and performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Depth of scientific knowledge around preclinical research platforms. Bioinformatics expertise, including familiarity with the analysis and application of multi-omic and multimodal biological data sets. Hands-on experience with RNA-seq and whole exome sequencing data is expected. Familiarity with proteomics data is preferred. Knowledge of project management and oncology research. Knowledge of vivo oncology models (Xenograft/PDX) required. Understanding pre-clinical drug development a plus. Customer service skills, timely decision making, good interpersonal skills, and an ability to be persistent while maintaining tact. Demonstrated ability to explain technical results clearly to non-technical audiences. This is an essential requirement of the role. Must have the ability to balance several priorities simultaneously with high attention to detail. Ability for frequent adaptation, self-organization, and accountability. Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. Scripting ability in Python and/or R, and comfort working at the Linux command line. Working knowledge of cloud data handling, preferably AWS and S3, including safe transfer of large datasets. Experience with Salesforce, or a comparable CRM, is preferred. Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. or M.S. degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related quantitative life science preferred. Five or more years of experience in translational or preclinical research, data delivery, or a similar client-facing position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment in a multi-level facility or home office.
