SC/NPPV3 Cleared Infrastructure Architect

Synergize Consulting is currently seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to support a major organisational transformation programme.

This is a 98% remote role, with very occasional travel potentially required to London or Manchester.

• Day rate: £555 per day (Inside IR35)
• Duration: up to June 2027

Role Overview

The Infrastructure Architect will play a key role within a large-scale transformation programme, helping multiple organisations, business units and end-user communities move towards a unified Target Operating Model (TOM).

You will define, design and assure the future-state infrastructure architecture required to support consolidated services, platforms and ways of working.

The role will focus on ensuring infrastructure capabilities are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned with the wider transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture strategy supporting the Target Operating Model.
• Define future-state infrastructure across cloud, hosting, networking, end-user computing, identity, storage and platform services.
• Ensure infrastructure architecture aligns with enterprise architecture principles and transformation objectives.
• Assess current infrastructure environments and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
• Support the integration of multiple organisations into the target environment.
• Produce high-level and detailed infrastructure designs.
• Define infrastructure standards, patterns and reference architectures.
• Review and assure solution designs, suppliers and technical partners.
• Ensure designs meet requirements for security, availability, performance, resilience and operational readiness.
• Define architectural requirements for hosting, connectivity and workplace technology.
• Develop cloud adoption strategies and migration approaches where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to modernise legacy infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
• Promote infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud-native design principles.
• Support security assessments and architectural reviews.
• Ensure solutions meet resilience, disaster recovery, backup and business continuity requirements.
• Work with business stakeholders, technical teams, suppliers and service providers.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and design sessions.
• Support technical governance across multi-vendor environments.
• Manage architecture dependencies relating to supplier-delivered services.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience working as an Infrastructure Architect within complex enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale business or organisational transformation programmes.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, including Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience developing migration and transformation roadmaps.
• Experience with infrastructure consolidation and platform rationalisation.
• Strong understanding of resilience, disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity.
• Ability to evaluate technical solutions against business requirements and strategic objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working across complex, multi-vendor environments.
