Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Scrum Masters to support service innovation, program review and digital-transformation initiatives within a large, complex public-sector environment. The Scrum Master will work with cross-functional program-review and product-delivery teams across two or more projects.

The role leads agile delivery, removes impediments, strengthens team self-organization, coaches product owners and delivery teams, and promotes transparent, consistent achievement of sprint commitments.

Engagement Details

  • Work arrangement: Remote within Canada, with occasional onsite meetings or working sessions on reasonable notice, up to approximately 15%.
  • Working hours: Standard Mountain Time business hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Workload: Full-time across two or more projects.
  • Maximum hours: Up to 1,960 hours per term unless otherwise agreed.
  • Location requirement: All work and data access must remain within Canada.
  • Equipment: The resource should preferably provide compatible equipment. A modern Windows or macOS computer capable of secure virtual-desktop access may be required; Windows is preferred for compatibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional program-review and product-delivery teams in agile principles, policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, product demonstrations, retrospectives, backlog refinement and ad hoc delivery sessions.
  • Coach teams on estimating, sprint commitments, external dependencies, impediment removal and continuous improvement.
  • Act as an effective intermediary between product owners and delivery teams to support sprint goals and delivery outcomes.
  • Guide product owners on reporting, release planning, roadmaps, backlog definition and refinement.
  • Maintain delivery metrics and report on product plans, progress and quality using sprint burndown and velocity charts, product backlogs, sprint backlogs and related delivery artifacts.
  • Manage communications, maximize transparency, disseminate service-delivery information and help resolve conflict.
  • Participate in digital-service activities such as user research and usability testing.
  • Adapt services and deliverables iteratively in response to emerging user, business, design and technical needs.

AI Fluency and Process-Automation Requirements

  • Demonstrate daily, delivery-grade use of generative AI and agentic tools for drafting, analysis, structured retrieval, meeting synthesis, backlog support, delivery reporting and automation.
  • Apply prompt design and retrieval-augmented generation appropriately.
  • Evaluate AI output for accuracy, hallucination risk, privacy, sensitivity and suitability for the delivery environment.
  • Build AI-augmented routines that improve agile-delivery practices and reduce administrative overhead.
  • Demonstrate process-automation literacy across workflow automation, digital forms, structured intake, status reporting and agentic process orchestration.
  • Translate technical change and automation impacts into accessible communications for business stakeholders, product owners and delivery teams.

Required Project Examples

Answers to the following questions must appear at the end of the resume. Provide two project or assignment examples that clearly demonstrate Scrum Master expertise. Each example must separately address Questions 1 through 5. If an answer is identical for both projects, state that explicitly. Recent examples aligned with modern public-sector digital delivery practices are preferred.

  1. Describe the project or assignment, including its scope and objectives, the candidate's specific Scrum Master responsibilities, and any use of generative AI or agentic tools for delivery-grade work.
  2. State whether the project served the public sector, private sector or another domain. Highlight digital service delivery, modernization, enterprise transformation, AI fluency or process-automation literacy.
  3. Describe project complexity and scale, including users, business areas or departments affected, architectural or process transformation, budget, process automation and other relevant criteria.
  4. Describe the planning and delivery approach and explain how the Scrum Master enabled outcomes.
  5. List the key skills, tools, AI-enabled tools, automation patterns and technologies used by the Scrum Master.

Submission Requirements

  • A resume is mandatory.
  • All required experience must be described under the specific job or project where it was gained.
  • Every job and project must include dates in MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY format.
  • The two required project examples and answers must be included at the end of the resume.
