Your Role As Scrum Master in our Tbilisi hub, you install a predictable, metrics-driven Scrum cadence across the full Tbilisi delivery team (backend, frontend, AI, QA, DevOps) so that within 12 months at least 90% of committed sprint scope is delivered on time, on budget, and visible in a single Jira and Forecast dashboard reviewed weekly by the COO. We are hiring this role because the Tbilisi hub is being built as Thorit's third site, scaling from a 5 FTE pilot in Q3 2026 to a 15 FTE engineering organisation by 2027. Without a dedicated Scrum Master on the ground, sprint cadence will be improvised by individual engineers and managed reactively from Lisbon and Böblingen. You install the operating system that turns the Tbilisi engineering pilot into a measurable, compoundable delivery capability while keeping cross-site collaboration friction-free across DACH, Lisbon, and Tbilisi. In Phase 1 (2026 to mid-2027), this role is internal-facing only, no direct client contact. Your Responsibilities Scrum Cadence. Within 3 months, run a single, predictable Scrum cadence across the Tbilisi delivery team with defined ceremonies (Daily, Refinement, Planning, Review, Retro) and 100% ceremony attendance tracked in Jira. Slippage Reduction. Within 6 months, reduce sprint scope slippage to under 10% measured as committed vs. delivered story points per sprint. Reporting Layer. Implement a unified Jira and Forecast reporting layer so that Tbilisi sprint burndown and capacity utilisation are visible in a single dashboard reviewed weekly by the COO. Coach Internal Anchors. Within 9 months, coach the Tbilisi Senior Backend Anchor and the Lisbon Engineering Manager to a level where each can run independent Scrum ceremonies without you in the room. Definition of Done and Ready. Establish a Definition of Done and Definition of Ready adopted across all Tbilisi work and referenced in every ticket template. Impediment Removal. Reduce blockers aging more than 5 days to under 10% of the open backlog through proactive impediment removal and escalation. Cross-Site Integration. Integrate Tbilisi delivery cadence into the cross-site Practice standup and weekly sync, with zero timezone friction reported in retros from any of the three sites. Maturity Assessment. Deliver a quarterly Agile Maturity Assessment to the COO with concrete improvement actions per stream and per cross-site touchpoint. Your Profile 3 to 5 years as Scrum Master with deep working knowledge of Scrum Guide 2020. Comfortable adapting ceremonies to a consulting context (not pure product development). Familiarity with SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus for multi-team scaling is a plus. Jira mastery: you can configure boards, workflows, filters, JQL queries, and dashboards without admin support. You have set up cross-project boards before. Metrics-driven delivery: you translate sprint data into management-ready narratives (velocity, predictability, cycle time, throughput). You can cite specific numbers from your own teams. Impediment removal as a daily practice: you proactively surface and remove blockers, escalate with data not opinion, maintain an aging impediments log. Coaching and facilitation: you coach engineers and tech leads through the shu-ha-ri progression. You run retros that produce concrete actions, not vent sessions. Cross-site and async collaboration: you have operated as the hinge between distributed teams across at least 2 timezones, fluent in async-first rituals. Business-fluent English (working language across all sites). Native speaker not required. Tbilisi-based, working under Remote.com EOR contract, with consistent 5-hour CET overlap daily. What Makes You Excel You operate without supervision in a Tbilisi remote setup, set your own weekly rhythm with the COO, and flag risks before they become issues. You are pragmatic, not dogmatic. Scrum is your toolkit, not your rulebook. You adapt ceremonies when the context demands. You give honest signals: if a sprint is yellow, you call it yellow on Wednesday, not on Friday's review. You connect sprint output to commercial outcomes, not just velocity numbers. You see being the first Scrum Master in a new hub as an opportunity to shape the operating system, not as a stepping stone to delivery management at a product company.
