Alpine Business Consulting is a specialized team focused on fixing enterprise performance management and reporting systems that have become unreliable. Often, a company invests heavily in complex planning tools only to find that the initial setup was handled poorly. This results in finance teams dealing with inconsistent numbers and month-end closes that take much longer than they should. We step in to configure these systems properly or build new ones from scratch, ensuring that the final product provides a single source of truth that the business can rely on every morning.
Our work currently involves helping a Berlin-based technology company reorganize their reporting structures and internal data flows. As we support this client, we need a Scrum Master Intern to help coordinate our delivery cycles and maintain the standards of transparency and predictability we are known for. This is a full-time, fully remote position, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive while contributing to a complex project for a significant international client.
About the role
In this role, you will assist our senior consultants in managing the daily flow of work for our technical projects. We do not believe in bloated processes or meetings for the sake of meetings. Instead, we focus on clear communication and removing the friction that stops people from doing their best work. You will help the team stay organized, ensuring that every task is well-defined and that our project boards accurately reflect the current state of the implementation.
Because Alpine Business Consulting prioritizes documentation that a client can actually use, you will also help gather requirements and organize handover materials. This role is a chance to learn how professional consulting projects are run without the corporate fluff. You will see firsthand how we move from a fixed-price quote to a successful system handover, ensuring the client has the configuration guides needed to remain independent long after our work is done.
What you will do - Facilitate daily check-ins to ensure the team knows what needs to be accomplished and to identify any blockers that need resolution.
- Maintain project management tools and boards, keeping tasks updated and ensuring that priorities are clear for the engineering and consulting teams.
- Assist in the preparation and facilitation of sprint planning and retrospective sessions, focusing on practical improvements rather than theoretical exercises.
- Help organize and maintain project documentation, including configuration guides and technical specifications, to ensure a smooth handover to the client.
- Monitor team capacity and work closely with senior consultants to help manage expectations regarding timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with the team to identify areas where internal processes can be simplified or made more efficient.
- Act as a point of contact for administrative project needs, ensuring that all meeting notes and action items are captured and followed up on.
What we need from you - A basic understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework, perhaps through coursework, personal projects, or a previous internship.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple moving parts without losing focus on the details.
- Clear, direct communication skills in English, both written and verbal, as you will be working with a distributed team.
- A professional and helpful attitude, with a willingness to learn how complex EPM and ERP systems function in a business environment.
- Reliability and the ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while staying connected with the rest of the team.
- Basic familiarity with project management software, such as Jira, Trello, or similar tools, is helpful but not mandatory.
- An interest in consulting and how technology can be used to solve specific business problems for finance and operations teams.
What the role offers
This is a paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the role and the market. You will gain direct experience working on a project for a Berlin-based technology company, learning from senior consultants who have years of experience with Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks. Because we are a fully remote company, you will have the flexibility to manage your workspace and schedule while being an integral part of a professional team.
Working at Alpine Business Consulting means focusing on quality and transparency. We do not use client projects as a training ground for junior staff to figure things out on the fly. Instead, you will be mentored by experts who will show you how to build and fix systems properly. You will leave this internship with a clear understanding of how to manage technical projects and how to deliver results that provide actual value to a client business.
Our team values candidates who are direct, honest, and willing to put in the work to get the data right. We prioritize a single source of truth in our systems and in our communication. If you are looking for an environment where you can learn the practical side of project management and system configuration, this role provides the necessary foundation.
