Scrum Master Internship

We are adding a Scrum Master Internship to our team to support a project with a major British infrastructure consultancy. This role centers on helping project teams maintain their pace and focus through simple, consistent organization. As a fully remote member of the team, you will learn how to apply agile methods to complex consulting environments, ensuring that work moves forward without unnecessary friction.

About the Role
The Scrum Master Internship exists to bridge the gap between high level strategy and the actual daily work. At Olive Tree Consulting, we see many teams struggle not because they lack talent, but because their meetings and decision cycles have become cluttered. In this role, you will help our consultants and the client maintain a clear rhythm of work. You will learn to identify where projects are stalling and help the team return to a predictable, productive pattern. This is a chance to see how agile principles work in a professional services context while building your skills as a coordinator.

What You Will Do

• Organize and hold daily check ins to keep the team aligned on immediate tasks.
• Write and distribute plain, clear notes that capture decisions and specific ownership.
• Maintain the project backlog by ensuring every task is clearly defined and assigned.
• Help the team prepare for weekly reviews and planning sessions.
• Observe team interactions to spot where habits might be slowing down progress.
• Update shared digital boards to reflect the current status of all work items.
• Support the consultants in drafting simple documentation that replaces long, vague emails.
• Track bottlenecks and report them to the project lead to ensure hurdles are removed quickly.

Helpful Background

• Basic awareness of agile or scrum principles, perhaps from university coursework or a personal project.
• Familiarity with digital collaboration tools such as shared documents and shared task boards.
• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in business, management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a role that required coordination, such as organizing events, student groups, or volunteer activities.
• Comfortable working in a digital environment where most communication happens via text and video calls.
