Inside the Role The Digital Engineering Solutions (DES) team purpose is to implement strategic IT initiatives and support existing IT systems that improve engineering processes. In this role, you will play a key role in the ongoing evolution of PLATON, support ESTR governance activities, and help prioritize and deliver improvements across DTNA's engineering systems landscape. Success requires strong collaboration skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions. For this role, PLATON involvement includes: Managing DTNA's backlog of current issues and future enhancement requests. Global alignment of system changes with other business units. Providing 2nd-level support for issues not resolved by 1st-level support/help desk teams. Testing future releases prior to deployment. ESTR (Engineering Systems & Technology Review) is a cross-functional engineering forum that provides a structured governance process for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and advancing engineering tools, processes, and technologies. ESTR brings together stakeholders from across engineering disciplines to review business needs, develop solution concepts, align priorities, and recommend initiatives for funding or escalation through leadership channels. For this role, ESTR involvement includes: Managing the backlog of engineering pain points and improvement opportunities. Facilitating regular planning committee meetings and quarterly executive reviews. Summarizing annual budget requests for high-priority initiatives. Shopcall is DTNA's manufacturing discrepancy and resolution management process and system. It serves as the formal mechanism for managing issues discovered during vehicle assembly and is used to document, communicate, investigate, and resolve production issues while maintaining assembly line continuity. For this role, Shopcall involvement may include: Managing the Shopcall product backlog, roadmap, and enhancement requests. Gathering and prioritizing requirements from Manufacturing, Liaison Engineering, and Design Engineering. Facilitating stakeholder communication, training, and change management for new capabilities and process improvements. Supporting integration of Shopcall with engineering systems, including PLATON, IMACS, and ERS. The ideal candidate is a collaborative Product Owner with experience supporting complex engineering or manufacturing systems. While expertise in every platform is not required, candidates should bring strong knowledge in at least one major domain and demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new business processes, build stakeholder trust, and deliver valuable solutions. Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college and 3+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Experience defining, prioritizing, and maintaining backlogs for complex engineering, manufacturing, or enterprise systems. Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with business stakeholders to define and deliver system improvements. Strong knowledge of product data management (PDM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and processes. Familiarity with CAD tools. Experience creating tip sheets, training materials, and other technical documentation. An attached resume is required. Ability to travel as needed. Excellent writing, reporting, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Exceptional Candidates Might Have Experience with DTNA's Product Data Management system (PLATON) for part and DMU BOM documentation and release processes. Experience with DTNA's manufacturing discrepancy management system (Shopcall). Experience with DTNA's Product Lifecycle Management system (IMACS) for part and BOM documentation and release processes. Experience with DTNA's CAD system (NX) for part and DMU BOM documentation and synchronization to Smaragd. Experience with large engineering system implementations and deployments. Experience facilitating cross-functional teams, committees, or governance forums. Formal education in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
