Show job description
Welcome to SSC Space (formerly Swedish Space Corporation), the perfect workplace for those passionate about technology in general and space in particular.
With space organizations, research institutes, institutional and commercial actors as customers, we offer specialist expertise in satellite communications, spacecraft consulting services, rocket and balloon systems, and much more.
SSC Space also has one of the world’s largest global networks of ground stations for satellite communications. We own and operate the Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, northern Sweden, with the aim of launching satellites in the near future.

Do you enjoy helping people, keeping things organized and working in a role that combines administration with practical tasks?

Join SSC Space as a Security Coordinator at Esrange Space Center in Kiruna. You will help coordinate visits, guide visitors on site and keep security documentation in order, working closely with our Site Security Officer to ensure visits run smoothly and security routines are followed.
We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable and service-minded, with sound judgement and a practical approach to work. You are comfortable following established routines, handling confidential information and asking for guidance when something is unclear. A formal security background is not required.

To succeed in this role, you need:
  • Experience in administration and confidence using common digital tools to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and professionally in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • A valid category B driving license for driving within the EEA and a responsible approach to driving.
  • The ability to stay calm, prioritize tasks and adapt when plans change.
  • The confidence to uphold security routines, including pausing an activity and seeking guidance when requirements are unclear.
Experience in reception, logistics, transport, facility services or security support is an advantage, particularly if you have coordinated visitors, contractors or deliveries. First-aid or defensive-driving training is also welcome.
You will support the day-to-day work of the Security function, combining visitor coordination, administration and practical support.

Working within established instructions and approved access arrangements, you will:
  • Prepare and coordinate visits by confirming required information, checking documentation and communicating practical instructions to visitors, contractors and suppliers.
  • Support reception and access coordination in line with approved clearances and local security routines.
  • Escort visitors within security-sensitive areas, explaining site rules and ensuring movement restrictions are followed.
  • Provide safe and professional transport within the site, using authorized vehicles and approved routes.
  • Maintain accurate registrations, records, checklists and security documentation.
  • Support the Site Security Officer with practical preparations, information gathering and follow-up.
  • Promptly report missing documentation, access concerns, incidents or unclear instructions, and contribute to improvements in daily routines.
We offer you
  • A unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects and play an active role in both the Swedish and international space industry.
  • An excellent opportunity for personal and career development.
  • An exciting, international workplace characterized by an open atmosphere and proud employees all over the world.
Additional benefits
  • In addition to vacation and traditional public holidays, we offer extra paid leave throughout the year, such as time off between Christmas and New Year, Ascension Day, amounting to 6-11 extra days depending on the calendar.
  • Wellness allowance of SEK 5,000 per year.
  • Health benefits such as voluntary health insurance and regular health checks for eligible employees.
  • Access to a benefit bike through a tax-efficient leasing program.
  • Support for employee-driven activities that promote connection, health, and culture across teams.
  • Collective Agreement, including good pensions plans, parental pay and insurance.

Location
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our space base Esrange outside of Kiruna.
