Security Engineer

Within the IT Production Security Tribe, you will work within an Agile environment that is both demanding and stimulating, where team members enjoy high technical autonomy. You will operate in a highly regulated context, subject to banking security constraints, and strict compliance obligations (audits, network controls, data flow recertification).

1. Operational Management & Support (Run)

• Traffic Flow Management: Handle daily requests for opening and modifying firewall flows in strict compliance with the bank's security rules.
• Incident Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve incidents caused by firewalls or applied security policies.
• On-Call Support: Maintain availability to provide technical support outside of standard office hours (on-call rotation).

2. Engineering & Projects (Change)

• Technical Expertise: Contribute to project teams by delivering specialized expertise on firewall technologies.
• Policy Optimization: Design, implement, and optimize firewall rules and security policies.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)

• Compliance Alignment: Ensure firewall configurations align perfectly with BNP Paribas Fortis security policies and maintain up-to-date documentation.
• Audits & Recertification: Perform in-depth analyses, gather necessary evidence for audits, and drive periodic data flow recertifications.
• Reporting: Produce activity reports and security indicators related to the scope of work.

Your Profile:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with intensive practice in firewall environments.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Firewall Technologies: Palo Alto, Fortinet.
• Security & Networking: IPS/IDS, Cloud micro-segmentation, core network architecture, and security principles.
• IT Service Management: ServiceNow (Service Management module), ITIL processes (incident and change management).
• Analysis & Automation: Proficiency in MS Excel, with scripting capabilities in VBA and Python (for optimization and reporting purposes).
• Methodology: Practical experience working in an Agile environment.

Soft Skills

• Rigor & Autonomy: Strong attention to detail, high awareness of service continuity, and risk management.
• Communication & Teamwork: Ability to translate complex technical topics into non-technical explanations, share knowledge, and collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Adaptability & Commitment: Proactive, results-oriented, flexible during peak periods, with a quick learning curve to gradually take on additional responsibilities.

Languages

• English: Mandatory (fluent professional level).
• French and/or Dutch: Highly desired.

Education & Certifications (Preferred)

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science / Information Technology.
• Certifications: PCNSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator), CCNA (Cisco), CompTIA Network+.
