Want to work for a company built by IT people, for IT people? Five Nines is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Security Operations team and stand on the front line protecting our clients' environments. You'll monitor and investigate security alerts, help find and fix vulnerabilities, and partner with engineers and architects who will help you grow your security career from day one. If you're curious, detail-oriented, and ready to build real-world security experience alongside a team that has your back, we want to talk to you. Are you in?
A few things that make Five Nines special:

- You'll be part of a team of 150+ engineers, so there's always someone to learn from.
- You're never on an island. Our teams back each other up and support each other's success.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Serve as a first line of defense for our clients by monitoring security tools, email security, and firewall alerts.
- Investigate and triage alerts, document your findings, and escalate confirmed incidents to the right people.
- Run vulnerability scans, validate findings, and help drive remediation and risk assessments to completion.
- Work security tickets and answer client questions as a trusted partner in their security posture.
- Collaborate with Security Engineers, Security Architects, and vendor contacts to close security gaps.
- Support compliance work by collecting evidence, tracking control adherence, and building security documentation.
- Sharpen your skills through ongoing training, tabletop exercises, and process improvement projects.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of IT or security-related experience
- Foundational knowledge of security concepts (CIA triad, phishing, malware, MFA, firewalls)
- Familiarity with common security tools or platforms
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to follow defined procedures and escalate appropriately
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Security or a related field
- Preferred: Security+, SSCP, or equivalent certification
What you will get out of the role:
- Competitive pay and benefits
- Career development, training, and a clear path to grow in security
- Exciting, hands-on projects across a wide range of client environments
- A supportive team that values culture and collaboration
- Open PTO
