Job Description

We are looking for a Security Operations Generalist to provide cross-functional support across security operations, assist with security monitoring and incident response activities, and help maintain security processes, tools, and awareness programs across the organization. This position will be full-time and remote.

What You'll Do

  • Provide flexible, cross-functional support across the full range of Security Operations responsibilities, serving as a generalist resource that fills coverage gaps across tools, processes, and initiatives as team needs shift
  • Maintain working familiarity with multiple security tools and platforms across the Security Operations toolset, providing backup coverage during absences, volume surges, or transitions in tool ownership
  • Monitor the Service Desk queue for security event tickets, triage and resolve straightforward cases directly, and route more complex items to the appropriate Analyst, Senior Analyst, or Engineer
  • Review and respond to phishing alert reports and provide end-user guidance as needed
  • Assist in the analysis of security data and reports to identify trends, escalating findings to the appropriate team member for deeper investigation
  • Support incident response efforts by contributing to whichever workstream needs additional assistance under the direction of Security Operations leadership
  • Assist with vulnerability management activities, including remediation ticket creation and coordination with IT Operations
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Provide general support for enterprise-wide security education initiatives, including phishing simulations and training communications
  • Interact directly with end users to provide guidance, training, and assistance on security-related matters
  • Assist with intake and initial triage of security-related questions from across the organization
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned, providing flexible capacity wherever needed
  • Maintain a working awareness of the security industry, threat landscape, and CAI's security toolset

What You'll Need

Required:

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in IT, help desk, IT security, or another related technical support role
  • Security-related internship experience may be considered in lieu of professional experience
  • Associate's degree, or an additional 2 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Broad working familiarity with foundational security concepts
  • Comfort operating across multiple tools, processes, and priorities without requiring deep specialization in any one area
  • Strong adaptability and willingness to shift focus quickly as team needs change
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and understand when to escalate issues
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • CompTIA Security+ or other security-related certifications
  • Experience supporting vulnerability management, security awareness, incident response, or phishing investigations
  • Experience working within enterprise IT or security operations environments

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$65,000 per year

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role receive paid time off and may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
