About The Opportunity
We are looking for a Security Patching Operations Specialist to help maintain secure, stable, and compliant server environments.
In this role, you will coordinate and execute patching activities across Windows Server, Linux, VMware ESXi, and virtualised infrastructure. You will work with technical teams to assess vulnerabilities, prioritise updates, schedule maintenance windows, and ensure that patching operations meet established security and performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute patch-management activities across physical and virtual Windows Server environments;
- Support patching activities for Linux servers and VMware ESXi;
- Assess patching needs and help prioritise updates;
- Coordinate maintenance windows with infrastructure, security, and application teams;
- Monitor patching results and investigate failed or incomplete deployments;
- Support antivirus and endpoint-security operations;
- Maintain security compliance in line with established KPIs;
- Update incidents, requests, changes, and patching records in the ticketing system;
- Participate in regular operational meetings and service reviews;
- Apply documented ITIL processes and operational procedures;
- Support virtualised environments and related infrastructure;
- Maintain accurate operational and patching documentation;
- Follow cybersecurity and patch-management best practices;
- Identify opportunities to improve the quality and reliability of patching processes.
Essential Requirements
- Between one and two years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, technical support, or a related area;
- Practical knowledge of Windows Server administration;
- Familiarity with Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, or 2022;
- Basic Windows Server troubleshooting skills;
- Basic knowledge of patch-management processes;
- Familiarity with antivirus or endpoint-security solutions;
- Basic understanding of ITIL processes;
- Experience using a ticketing or IT service-management system;
- Ability to follow structured operational and security procedures;
- English proficiency at B2 level;
- Availability to work from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. CET;
- Current residence and work authorisation in Portugal.
Experience with every server version or infrastructure platform listed is not required. The priority is a solid Windows Server foundation, familiarity with patching operations, and willingness to learn.
