Security Software Engineer (RAL up to €87,600 + equity)

At Tropico Security, we're building the most effective early warning system in modern cybersecurity via next-gen deception techniques.

Required Skills:

Must have

• Fluency in at least one primary language (e.g. Python, Go, TypeScript, Java, Rust) and comfortable reading a second
• Database work: relational schema design, indexing, query tuning, familiarity with at least one non-relational store
• REST API design and consumption
• Version control with Git, including branching strategy and code review etiquette
• Secure coding
• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD automation
• System design: decomposing a problem into services, handling failure modes, reasoning about trade-offs

Nice to have

• Cloud architecture and hands-on cost optimisation (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• MDM and on-prem device management experience
• ISO 27001 and SOC 2 experience: controls, policies, audits, evidence collection
• Active Directory / Entra ID knowledge: structure, trusts, GPOs, replication
• Familiarity with AD attack paths and tooling (Kerberoasting, ADCS abuse, BloodHound)
• Identity and access management, SSO, MFA
• Detection engineering, logging, and monitoring (SIEM, EDR, cloud audit logs)
• Windows internals, endpoint security, or red team experience

You will work directly with the founders on systems that go into banks and critical infrastructure. We hire for potential and then put people in a position to use it. Early engineers here shape the architecture that the company runs on for years.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary (from €40,200 to €87,600 + equity, depending on the role and experience. With exceptionally experienced candidates it can go up to €120,000)

Full-time, Milan (Italy) with option to work remotely from Italy.

The selection process

Every candidate goes through the same process, regardless of seniority.

If you pass our initial screening, you'll be asked to complete a technical exercise. A remote interview with our technical team follows, and the next stage is an on-site interview.
