Security Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 2 days on-site, 3 days work from home (potential to go to 5 days per week on-site)

• Contract Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension based on business needs and performance; conversion possible based on business needs and performance)
• Pay Rate: C$90.00–C$108.00 / Hour (CAD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours — 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day; overtime possible
• Travel Requirements: Not required

This is a Security Specialist contract role supporting two key governance initiatives: governance, monitoring, and tracking of regulatory exam findings, and governance and oversight of a technology issues management program. The contractor will be embedded within a team of 9 and will interact with various other teams and senior executives on an internal basis. Performance will be measured by hitting timelines and the quality of work delivered. The role offers a collaborative work culture with opportunity to be part of the foundation and grow within the program.

• Provide governance, monitoring, and tracking of regulatory exam findings
• Support governance and oversight of the technology issues management program
• Conduct control testing and audit-related activities
• Write reports and materials intended for executive-level audiences
• Collaborate with internal teams and senior executives
• Participate in approximately 3 hours of meetings per day

• 10 years of experience in regulatory exams and findings, internal audits, technology issues management, or technology GRC
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite — PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio
• Previous control testing and audit experience
• Ability to write reporting intended for executive level
• Strong communication skills — verbal and written
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail, proactive, and organized
• Ability to work independently

• Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) experience
• Big 4 consulting firm experience
• Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or any other automation tools for reporting
• CISA and CRISC certifications or equivalent (strongly preferred for the issues management project)

• Post-secondary education required
• Certifications are an asset
• CISA and CRISC certifications or equivalent (strongly preferred — see Preferred Skills)

• 10 years of overall experience in regulatory exams and findings, internal audits, technology issues management, or technology GRC

• Candidates with a pattern of job hopping or multiple short-term contracts may be disqualified from consideration
• Interview process: 2 steps, virtual with manager and team lead, approximately 30 minutes
