Segment Manager - Primary (Australia)


Location: Australia - 100% Remote / Home Working (Must permanently live in Australia & have the right to work without restrictions to apply for this role)

Pay Rate: $45 - $48 AUD per hour

Contract: 12-month contract - Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Twinkl Australia is seeking an exceptional educational leader to take strategic ownership of our Australian Primary Teacher audience. As the Primary Segment Manager, you will serve as the internal advocate for Primary Teachers, ensuring their evolving needs, classroom challenges, and curriculum expectations shape Twinkl’s strategic direction, product offerings, and brand positioning.



Key Responsibilities

  • Segment Strategy & Ownership: Develop and own the Primary Teacher segment strategy to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Voice of the Teacher: Gather qualitative and quantitative insights through school visits, teacher interviews, and survey panels to represent teacher needs in strategic decision-making.
  • Content & Educational Resource Strategy: Identify curriculum coverage gaps and emerging classroom trends (e.g., AI adaptation, explicit instruction, STEM) to guide resource creation.
  • Brand Positioning & Messaging: Partner with marketing and brand teams to deliver relevant messages and propositions grounded in teacher insight.
  • External Representation: Represent Twinkl at conferences, workshops, and events to build strong relationships within the Australian Primary education community.



Key Requirements

  • [Essential] Significant experience within the Australian Primary education sector.
  • [Essential] Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum (v9.0) and state/territory syllabus requirements.
  • [Essential] Proven ability to translate customer insight into strategic action.
  • [Essential] Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • [Essential] Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • [Essential] A genuine passion for improving outcomes and experiences for Australian Primary Teachers.
  • [Desirable] Hands-on experience as a Primary School Teacher in Australia.
  • [Desirable] Experience in EdTech, educational publishing, product/curriculum development, or marketing strategy.
  • [Desirable] Experience conducting user research, focus groups, or interviews.
