Berlin, Germany | Full-time (40h/week) Contract: On-payroll, fixed-term, with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to permanent employment basedon performance and project requirements. Senior 3D Artist (Generalist) is responsible for creating environment and character content across Torpor Games’titles, with a focus on architecture, interiors, characters, and set dressing. Given the size of the studio, this role alsocarries pipeline ownership: you’ll help shape how the team works, not just produce assets. 5+ years of professional experience as a 3D Generalist, Environment Artist, or similar role in the games industry. Strong portfolio showcasing semi-realistic character and/or environment work. Good eye for shape language, form, composition, lighting, material definition, scale, visual hierarchy, and style consistency. Ability to work across visual styles, from semi-realistic to stylized, depending on project needs. Experience creating modular, reusable asset systems, trim sheets, and assembled environments. Experience modeling characters and setting up body rigs and skin weights. Solid understanding of the full 3D art pipeline, including modeling, UV layout, baking, texturing, materials, optimization, and engine implementation. Professional experience working with Unity. Proficiency with industry-standard tools, including Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clarify direction, document decisions, and explain complex problems clearly. Comfortable giving and receiving feedback professionally across disciplines. Critical eye for evaluating scenes and assets, with the ability to identify what works, what doesn't, how to improve it, and take action. Strong sense of ownership and follow-through, with a proactive approach to improving workflows rather than simply completing assigned tasks. Ability to document workflows and create clear production guidelines for other artists. Preferred Qualifications At least one shipped game or comparable real-time interactive project. Familiarity with Shader Graph (Unity URP) for creating custom material effects. Experience with production and collaboration tools such as Notion, Codecks, Jira, Miro, Slack, or Confluence. Passion for narrative-driven RPGs or political games. Create high-quality 3D environment art, props, characters, modular assets, materials, trim sheets, and world-building content, with a strong focus on set dressing and environmental storytelling. Model characters and set up body rigs and skin weights. Integrate assets into Unity, including material setup, shaders, prefabs, and optimization. Establish and continuously improve the 3D production pipeline, including workflows, naming conventions, folder structures, file organization, and export presets. Document processes, best practices, and workflow guidance for the wider team. Proactively identify and communicate production risks, including unclear direction, workflow gaps, quality concerns, technical blockers, and schedule slippage. Benefits Health & Wellbeing: Free Urban Sports Club membership (Berlin employees). Transport: Fully covered Deutschland-Ticket (Berlin employees). Flexible Hours: Start your day between 8:00 and 10:00 CET, with core working hours from 10:00 to 15:00 CET. Hybrid Work: Work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely (Berlin employees). Work from Abroad: Up to 10 remote working days per year outside Germany (employees). Team Events: Regular team events and access to the NLND community network. Feedback & Growth: Regular feedback and development sessions. Annual Bonus: Performance-based bonus. Vacation: 24 paid vacation days per year (full-time employees).
