Position : Senior Accountant Location : Remote (U.S.-based) Schedule : Full-time Compensation : $85,000 – $95,000 Job Summary: This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for an accountant who wants to be the person who figures it out, not just the person who processes it. The Senior Accountant will own the full monthly close cycle for a NOW CFO client, from reconciliations through reporting, working as a trusted, on-the-ground extension of the client's finance team. If you're detail-oriented, comfortable owning a problem until it's solved, and energized by giving a client real financial clarity, this role is built for you. Responsibilities Month-End Close & Reconciliations Prepare full monthly close workbooks from start to finish, on schedule and ready for review Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other key accounts Record accrued expenses and prepaid amortization accurately and on a consistent schedule each month Apply ASC 606 principles correctly when recognizing revenue Transactions & Client Support Manage day-to-day accounts payable, from invoice intake through payment, with accurate coding Prepare and issue customer invoices in line with the client's billing cycle and revenue terms Monitor and reconcile bank feeds across accounts so cash activity is always current Serve as a clear, dependable point of contact for client questions, explaining the numbers in plain language Technology & Process Improvement Work confidently across QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, and other core accounting systems Identify control gaps and recommend practical improvements Reduce manual effort each cycle by building or improving a process Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience Proven experience owning full-cycle month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, on a recurring basis Hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks Online and BILL Solid working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, plus accrued expense and prepaid expense accounting Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and multi-source reconciliation Ownership mentality – self-directed, accountable, and proactive Confident communicator who can explain accounting outcomes to non-accountants Proven ability to work independently in a remote, client-facing environment with consistent follow-through Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Ramp, Sage Intacct, and Rippling, or a demonstrated ability to pick up new systems quickly Prior experience in outsourced, fractional, or consulting-based accounting or CFO services Experience supporting more than one client concurrently Experience with budgeting and forecasting Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) Exposure to AI tools in an accounting or finance context #IND2
