About the client:

Our client is a small, established accounting firm in Auckland with a close-knit team and a supportive leader. They have a doer culture where people get stuck in, deliver strong technical accounting work, and enjoy genuine work-life balance. The right person can be office based or looking for remote work.

This is a hands-on Senior Accountant role. We’re open to accountants from any background who want a practice role and are happy to focus on senior accounting work. You’ll manage client portfolios, provide tax and advisory support, and build trusted relationships with clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and review financial statements, tax returns, and compliance work for a portfolio of clients, ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery.
• Provide tax planning and advisory support, including structuring, tax implications, and practical recommendations that help clients meet obligations and make informed business decisions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact, understanding their business needs, and identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services.
• Support and review work prepared by junior team members, contribute to workflow planning, and help maintain high technical standards in a collaborative, hands-on team environment.

Qualifications and skills:

• CA/CPA qualification
• 10 years’ experience in a similar-sized CA firm
• Strong technical and communication skills
• Experience with clients across the Creative services, Consumer, Nonprofit and Real Estate sectors will be an advantage
• At least 5 years' experience in client advisory
