We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our facility in Tolland CT. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office. We are looking for candates local to the Hartford/Tolland area.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions while ensuring accurate financial records, timely month-end close, and adherence to corporate accounting policies. This role partners closely with finance leadership, operations, treasury, sales, supply chain, and global business teams to support business objectives, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process improvements across domestic and international operations.
The ideal candidate possesses strong general ledger accounting expertise, analytical skills, and experience working in a multinational environment. Key responsibilities include managing SAP and Sun Systems accounting activities, preparing account reconciliations, overseeing intercompany transactions, supporting treasury operations, performing financial analysis, and assisting with consolidation and reporting activities for Gerber and Lectra entities throughout North America and global operations.
Key Responsibilities

Active participation in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, reclassifications, and recurring transactions.

Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.

Maintain accurate general ledger records in SAP and Sun Systems.

Review trial balances and investigate account variances.
-
Manage intercompany receivables, payables, settlements, and reconciliations.

Coordinate with international finance teams to resolve intercompany differences.

Prepare foreign currency revaluations and related accounting entries.

Support treasury activities including cash pooling, bank reconciliations, and cash management.

Prepare management reports, consolidation schedules, and audit support files.

Analyze local revenue, cost of sales, margins, and operating expenses.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial data analysis.

Experience with ERP systems required; SAP experience preferred.

Experience with Sun Systems, Infor LN, or other financial systems is a plus.

Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
