About the Role
AI is moving fast, and so are we.
This is an opportunity to help shape how artificial intelligence, automation and process improvement are applied across one of Victoria's largest councils. Working at the intersection of technology and business transformation, you'll identify opportunities, define solutions and help drive initiatives from concept through to delivery, creating measurable improvements for our organisation and community.
You'll work autonomously to manage a pipeline of opportunities and initiatives, partnering with stakeholders, architects and technology specialists to understand current ways of working and uncover opportunities for improvement. From analysing business processes to assessing where AI and automation can create value, you'll help translate ideas into practical, scalable solutions that deliver real outcomes.
This role requires someone who can comfortably move between strategic conversations and technical detail. You'll influence decision-makers, shape future approaches and help establish reusable AI and automation patterns that can be applied across the organisation, supporting the responsible and sustainable adoption of emerging technologies.
What You’ll deliver
- Identify, assess and prioritise AI, automation and process improvement opportunities that deliver measurable business value and enhanced service outcomes.
- Challenge current-state processes and work with stakeholders to define future-state solutions enabled by technology.
- Drive high-value AI and automation initiatives from concept through to successful implementation and adoption.
- Maintain and actively manage a prioritised backlog of opportunities and initiatives, balancing business value, organisational priorities and delivery capacity.
- Lead discovery activities, workshops and analysis to develop business cases, recommendations and solution options that support informed decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders, solution architects and delivery teams to design practical, scalable and sustainable solutions.
- Contribute to AI and automation governance, reusable design patterns and knowledge assts that support future initiatives across Casey.
- Provide advice on emerging AI and automation capabilities, opportunities, risks and implementation considerations.
What You’ll Bring
You enjoy identifying opportunities, solving complex problems and turning ideas into outcomes. Curious about the potential of AI and emerging technologies, you're motivated by finding practical ways to improve how people work and deliver value.
You combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, confidently engaging stakeholders, facilitating workshops, developing business cases and shaping solution options. You know how to bring people together and build momentum toward shared outcomes.

- Demonstrated experience identifying, analysing and assessing business problems, opportunities and solution options.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, discovery activities and stakeholder engagement across all levels of an organisation.
- Experience developing business requirements, solution options, business cases, recommendations and other analysis artefacts to support decision-making.
- Ability to assess and communicate the benefits, risks, feasibility, complexity and implementation considerations of proposed solutions.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban or similar).
- Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Consultative approach with a collaborative working style.
- Proficiency in leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) tools and techniques to analyse information, generate insights and artefacts, and support decision-making.
