About the Role

We are searching on behalf of our client for this role. This position is not with OVI.
Join a startup building the intelligence layer for clinical research — a live platform processing patient records across 60+ therapeutic areas in the US and UK. This is a production engineering role, not a research project: you'll build systems used daily by clinicians and researchers. You will have solid Generative AI experience and you must have worked in a startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop RAG and agentic AI systems over structured and unstructured clinical data (EHR, FHIR, PDFs, clinical notes, trial criteria).
• Design eligibility reasoning, patient-matching, and recruitment automation workflows.
• Build large-scale data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Implement embedding, indexing, retrieval, and reranking pipelines (e.g., Milvus/Zilliz, Elasticsearch).
• Create evaluation frameworks for accuracy, retrieval quality, and hallucination rates.
• Work on prompt design, tool usage, and orchestration logic at production scale.

Your Profile

• Strong hands-on experience building and shipping production AI applications (LLMs, RAG, agents).
• Proficient in software engineering skills in Python, Node.js, or similar.
• Experienced with large-scale data pipelines, ETL/ELT, or workflow orchestration.
• Familiar with vector databases, embeddings, and search/ranking systems.
• Understanding of structured outputs, tool calling, and multi-step AI workflows.
• Experience in a startup or high-ownership environment.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and end-to-end ownership from architecture through deployment.
