Senior AI Platform Engineer with German

Our client is an International IT services provider with a strong track record in delivering nearshore development, system operations, and digital transformation projects for the DACH region.

To support the operation of an existing BusinessGPT and AI Agent platform, we are looking for an experienced German-speaking Senior Platform Engineer with a strong production and support focus. The role combines platform engineering and operational responsibilities with 2nd/3rd level technical support and direct communication with German-speaking customers, working as part of an integrated engineering team to investigate and resolve platform-related incidents and ensure the reliable operation of the AI platform.

The role is fully remote from Hungary and operates during normal working hours, Monday to Friday. Please see more details below:

Senior AI Platform / DevOps Engineer with German

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the production platform supporting BusinessGPT and AI Agent applications.
• Provide 2nd/3rd level technical support for platform-related incidents and customer issues.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex technical issues across Kubernetes, Linux, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and related platform components.
• Monitor production environments and contribute to the availability, stability and reliability of critical services.
• Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, patching, configuration changes and other operational activities.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery-related activities.
• Analyse incidents, identify root causes and implement or recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Communicate directly with customers in German regarding technical incidents, service status and operational topics.
• Collaborate with L1 support, DevOps / Platform Engineering, AI Engineering, Architecture and other L3 specialists when escalation is required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, platform reliability and customer support.
• Work as part of an integrated engineering team, contributing beyond support activities where required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Production Support or a similar role
• Experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes-based production environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as OpenTofu / Terraform
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment and GitOps practices, using tools such as Helm and ArgoCD
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI/CD
• Experience with production operations, technical support, incident management, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup / recovery and monitoring
• Good understanding of incident handling, root cause analysis, service reliability and IT service management
• Experience working directly with technical customers and communicating about incidents, service status and technical issues
• Strong troubleshooting mindset, analytical thinking and ownership, with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of an integrated engineering team
• Fluent German and English.
