INTRO
The Senior AML Specialist supports CSC’s Luxembourg operations by leading complex AML/CTF activities for higher-risk clients and investors. This role performs and oversees enhanced due diligence (EDD), maintains high-quality investor files, and provides clear risk-based recommendations aligned with EU and Luxembourg regulatory expectations. As a subject matter expert, you will partner closely with Compliance, Legal, and Operations, contribute to regulatory change implementation, and help strengthen the AML/CTF control framework. You will also mentor junior colleagues and help build a consistent culture of compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high-risk clients/investors, including complex ownership structures, PEPs, and higher-risk jurisdictions, and document clear risk rationales
  • Perform and oversee risk assessments and AML/CTF reviews, escalating concerns and recommending mitigation actions in line with internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Create, update, and maintain investor files to ensure KYC documentation is complete, accurate, current, and audit-ready
  • Monitor AML/CTF regulatory developments (EU AMLD, local Luxembourg guidance) and support timely implementation of policy, procedure, and control updates
  • Serve as a point of expertise for AML/CTF topics, partnering with internal stakeholders (Compliance, Legal, Operations) to resolve issues and maintain consistent decisions
  • Support interactions with external stakeholders (auditors, regulators, and other third parties) by preparing documentation, evidence packs, and responses as needed
  • Deliver and coordinate AML training and awareness initiatives; coach and mentor junior team members and support quality uplift across the team
  • Produce management reporting on AML/KYC activity, key risks, trends, and control effectiveness; propose improvements to enhance the AML/CTF framework

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in AML/CTF, KYC/EDD, or financial crime compliance within financial services or an institutional environment
  • Strong knowledge of European AML legislation and best practices
  • Experience supporting transaction monitoring, AML alert review processes, and/or financial crime risk tools in an operational setting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information, assess risk, and document decisions clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports for senior stakeholders and supporting audit/regulatory requests
  • Professional fluency in English and French

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in investor onboarding and AML/KYC within funds, corporate services, or cross-border structures
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, or second-line compliance reviews in Luxembourg or the EU
  • AML certification such as CAMS (ACAMS)
