JOB SUMMARY: The Associate is part of the team managing credit risk by tracking borrower and loan performance, utilizing a scalable portfolio monitoring infrastructure. This role entails collaboration with team members and internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency across the portfolio. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage portfolio credit risk, ensuring that asset quality remains strong, and executing strategies to limit the risk of loss Monitor operating performance, financial condition, and credit risk for assigned borrowers to proactively identify issues and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner Manage day-to-day borrowing activity of assigned asset-backed loan (ABL) investments pursuant to Bank policies and procedures Perform financial analysis on reporting provided by borrowers, tracking the trends and developments which may impact loan performance Model financial projections to assess a borrower’s ability to repay its loan under various economic scenarios Work in conjunction with Portfolio Managers to prepare loan underwriting and modification approval write-ups to present to the loan committee Assist in the development and utilization of a portfolio wide financial spreading model and a system to track borrower financial deliverables Assist with the risk rating, criticized asset management, and review processes for assigned borrowers Prepare appropriate and timely reporting to senior management on borrower and portfolio performance, effectively communicating identified credit risks and recommended actions Actively manage upcoming loan maturities, past dues, and credit quality in conjunction with Portfolio Managers and Loan Operations for assigned borrowers. Ensure loan documentation and credit files are updated and maintained in a timely fashion Assist with the independent review of appraisals and other third-party reports Ensure all reporting is accurately saved pursuant to Bank policies and procedures Ensure integrity of data entry and reporting system accuracy for assigned investments Actively participate in portfolio management and risk rating meetings; reporting on underlying investment performance; increased or decreased risk factors; and changes in performance from origination Assist in ongoing recruiting, onboarding and training of Analysts Participate in site visits to clients to support ongoing due diligence and credit monitoring efforts Maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements Complete special projects and duties on an ad-hoc basis QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred Mininum of 2 years of experience in a portfolio management, credit analysis, loan underwriting, public accounting, corporate FP&A, structured finance, and/or leveraged finance role required Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach Strong financial statement analysis skills with a firm grasp of accounting and finance matters High proficiency with Excel based modeling Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills POSITION REQUIREMENTS: We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees are capable of performing their job position.
