We’re building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. We need talented, passionate professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients. At CIBC, we embrace your strengths and your ambitions, so you are empowered at work. Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute. To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing Simplii Financial is a modern, customer-first organization, and the decisions that shape how we grow, where we invest, and how we compete need to be grounded in rigorous analysis and clear thinking. The Business Performance team exists to make that possible. This team builds the financial models, strategic frameworks, and executive-ready narratives that inform Simplii's most consequential decisions, from annual planning and scenario analysis to board-level presentations and competitive positioning. As Senior Analyst, Business Performance, you are embedded in a cross-functional environment where you own meaningful analytical scope end-to-end. You build and maintain robust financial models, conduct market and competitive analysis, and synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership. You are equally comfortable deep in a spreadsheet and presenting findings to an executive audience, and you bring the same standard of rigour and clarity to both. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you'll succeed Financial modeling and analysis - You build and maintain robust financial models, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and investment case development, that support strategic initiatives and board-level decisions. Your models are rigorous, well-structured, and dynamic. Strategic and competitive intelligence - You conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging risks. You synthesize complex data and market intelligence into clear, executive-ready narratives and presentations that give leadership the context they need to make confident decisions. Strategic planning support - You support Simplii's annual planning process and contribute to the periodic refresh of the multi-year strategy. You focus your analysis on targeted areas of growth and performance improvement, working across functions to consolidate inputs and ensure alignment with business objectives . Executive communication - You translate complex financial analysis, tradeoffs, and strategic recommendations into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership, including the Board, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and executive team. You know that the quality of a recommendation is only as good as its ability to be understood and acted on. Cross-functional leadership - You build strong working relationships across Finance, Product, Growth, Marketing, Data and Analytics, Operations, and CX, and you bring people together around a shared view of business performance. You drive alignment through the clarity and credibility of your analysis. Insight-led culture - You model a data-driven, insight-led approach to decision-making and actively share knowledge, frameworks, and best practices with colleagues. You help raise the analytical bar across the team through mentorship and best-practice sharing. Who you are You have relevant experience. You bring 3 or more years of experience in financial modeling, management consulting, strategy, corporate development, or investment banking, ideally within financial services or a similarly complex, analytical environment. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and scenario analysis is essential. Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is an asset. You put the customer first, always. You understand that the strategic recommendations you make and the models you build ultimately shape the products and experiences Simplii delivers to real customers. You keep that in view when you prioritize what to analyze, what to recommend, and what risks are worth flagging. You turn complexity into clarity. You have a talent for synthesizing large volumes of information, financial, operational, and competitive, into a clear, well-reasoned point of view. You do not just present data. You tell the story it is telling. You are rigorous about your work. Your models are accurate , your assumptions are documented, and your conclusions follow from your analysis. You hold yourself to a high standard of analytical quality, and you know that the details matter at executive altitude. You act like an owner. You do not wait to be told where the opportunity or the risk is. You stay close to the business, proactively surface what matters, and take accountability for the quality and impact of your work. You bring people with you. You know how to build trust across Finance, Product, and Operations partners who are all working from different vantage points. You create alignment through transparency, consistency, and the strength of your analysis. You communicate with confidence. You are as comfortable presenting to a senior executive as you are working through the details with an analyst. You adapt your communication to your audience, and you make every conversation more useful than it would have been without you. Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability. #LI-TA What CIBC Offers At CIBC, your goals are a priority.
