About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join a mature mobile application that is currently undergoing a significant modernization.

The Android application is built with Kotlin and is transitioning from traditional XML-based UI development to Jetpack Compose. The team is also adopting Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) as part of its long-term mobile architecture, enabling shared business logic across Android and iOS while maintaining native user interfaces on both platforms.

You will take ownership of the Android application, ensuring continued stability and quality while helping drive the modernization forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the Android application following a structured handover.

• Own Android releases, application stability, performance, and overall quality.

• Continue the migration from XML-based UI to Jetpack Compose.

• Integrate and manage native components within Compose-based UI and lifecycle.

• Contribute to the shared Kotlin Multiplatform layer in collaboration with the iOS team.

• Investigate and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance challenges.

• Document key technical areas, architecture, and processes.

• Support a smooth knowledge transfer to a permanent team member at the end of the assignment.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin.

• Excellent knowledge of Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices.

• Strong understanding of modern Android architecture and application lifecycle.

• Proven experience maintaining and developing production applications with a significant user base.

• Solid understanding of Android stability, performance, debugging, and release processes.

• Professional experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a mature codebase.

• Strong communication skills in English.
