Senior Angular Software Developer III

As a Senior Software Developer focused on design system engineering, you operate at the intersection of front-end engineering, product design, and platform enablement. You define and evolve the technical foundation of Caseware's design system, building scalable Angular components, patterns, documentation, and adoption practices that help product teams deliver consistent, accessible, high-quality user experiences. You are a trusted technical partner who can translate design intent into reliable implementation, guide adoption across teams, and communicate clearly with product managers, designers, developers, and engineering leaders across the organization. Location: This is a fully remote position located in Colombia.

Responsibilities:

• Create architecture, prototypes, and design proposals that deliver near-term business value while aligning with the future-state product and platform vision.

• Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration.

• Partner with senior developers, architects, and tech leads to define and execute the product/platform architecture roadmap.

• Balance delivery speed, quality, maintainability, and long-term platform health when making technical decisions.

• Break down large initiatives into parallelizable chunks of work that deliver incremental business value.

• Champion proposals through all phases of the SDLC, from design through production implementation.

• Keep technical documentation current and create new artifacts as needed.

• Facilitate design discussions within and across teams.

• Act as a trusted technical leader, helping teams succeed through collaboration, influence, and shared ownership.

• Mentor other developers through design reviews, joint agentic-AI sessions, and feedback on skills, prompts, and other agent inputs; contribute to raising overall engineering maturity.

• Evaluate emerging front-end, design system, accessibility, and component development practices that could improve consistency and developer experience across products.

• Define and evolve the technical roadmap for the design system, including Angular component architecture, design tokens, theming, documentation, packaging, and adoption patterns.

• Build, document, test, and maintain reusable Angular components with clear APIs, strong accessibility behavior, and predictable integration patterns across applications.

• Design and support module federation patterns for Angular applications so product teams can compose, share, and evolve front-end capabilities safely across the organization.

• Partner closely with product managers, designers, developers, accessibility stakeholders, and engineering leaders to align design-system decisions with product needs and technical constraints.

• Serve as a communication buffer and translator between product, design, and engineering teams, clarifying trade-offs, resolving ambiguity, and helping teams converge on reusable solutions.

• Create implementation guidance, usage examples, migration notes, and workshops that help teams adopt the design system consistently and reduce one-off UI implementations.

• Review front-end implementations across teams and provide practical guidance on accessibility, component reuse, API design, styling architecture, and maintainable Angular patterns.

AI-Augmented Development Expectations

• Use AI-assisted development tools — inline completion, conversational assistants, and agentic workflows — as a standard part of your daily workflow.

• Critically evaluate and take ownership of all AI-generated output before it ships — verify correctness, security, and alignment with architecture and team standards.

• Identify opportunities for agentic automation within your team and lead the rollout of new AI-assisted workflows and tooling.

• Mentor other developers on effective, responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.

• Help establish team-level practices and guardrails for using AI tools safely and effectively.

• Build and refine feedback loops that improve the team's collective use of AI tooling over time.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including significant hands-on front-end engineering experience in enterprise-scale web applications.

• Expert-level Angular proficiency, including component architecture, dependency management, routing, build tooling, performance considerations, and maintainable application structure.

• Proven experience building, maintaining, or significantly evolving a reusable component library or enterprise design system.

• Deep proficiency with TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and modern front-end architecture patterns.

• Strong understanding of design tokens, theming, scalable styling architecture, component API design, documentation, and design-to-code collaboration workflows.

• Hands-on knowledge of building module federation for Angular applications and guiding teams on safe, scalable integration patterns.

• Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility requirements and hands-on ability to implement accessible Angular components using semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, focus management, and screen-reader-friendly interaction patterns.

• Solid understanding of accessibility standards and implementation practices, including semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard interaction patterns, and WCAG-aligned component behavior.

• Experience with Storybook or similar tools for component development, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority and bridge product, design, and engineering perspectives across multiple teams.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with ambiguity and evolving requirements.

• Experience mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.

• Strong software fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and a track record of advocating for code quality.

• Experience with agentic-AI software development practices.

• Strong initiative to improve processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with demonstrated impact beyond a single team.
