What We're Looking For:
Michael Baker International is seeking a motivated, experienced Senior Architect to join our growing Architecture Practice in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, with a strategic focus on the Industrial/Defense OEM and Data Center markets, while also supporting established markets such as Federal, Aviation, and Transit in partnership with our multidisciplinary leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex, high-visibility projects while expanding your experience in a dynamic market.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering quality projects, advancing business development efforts, and strengthening Michael Baker’s presence across targeted growth markets.
What You'll Do:
- Support the planning, design, and delivery of Industrial and Defense OEM and Data Center facilities.
- Participate in all phases of architectural design, from concept/programming and schematic design through construction documentation and construction administration.
- Develop architectural drawings, details, specifications, presentations, renderings, and technical documentation using Revit and related design tools.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, engineering, planning, and client stakeholders.
- Engage consultant coordination and integration of building systems into project designs.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to proposal development, presentations, and design reviews.
- Support quality assurance and quality control efforts while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist project managers with project budgeting, scheduling, and project delivery.
- Contribute innovative design solutions that support evolving technologies and future development through fast-paced, compressed schedules aligned with client requirements.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Specific experience related to Industrial and Defense OEM and Data Center clients and projects preferred.
- Texas Architecture licensure required; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related architectural design software.
- Strong understanding of building systems, construction documentation, and consultant coordination.
- Knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- Ability to work in-person approximately two (2) days per week in either the Dallas or Fort Worth offices.
- Travel of approximately 25% is expected based on project and program needs.
Compensation
The approximate compensation range for this position is $120,000- $160,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
