Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

Join a growing Trust & Estate Litigation practice at an established Bay Area law firm. In this senior role, you will lead complex matters, mentor associates, and help shape the practice group's next stage of growth.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters from inception through resolution, setting case strategy and overseeing key work.

• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families in trust and probate disputes, including financial elder abuse matters.

• Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.

• Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the practice.

• Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associates, providing training and feedback.

• Help guide the direction and culture of the Trust & Estate Litigation Group.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of dedicated California trust and estate litigation experience, with active litigation work in this area.

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Experience handling probate court matters, will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and elder abuse matters.

• A track record of leading case strategy on complex matters and supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.

• Leadership skills and an interest in developing a practice group, along with strong client relationships or connections in the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid role based primarily in San Mateo, California. Pleasanton and San Jose offices are also available.
