About the position: The Senior Associate, Prospect Development helps strengthen fundraising performance through prospect research, portfolio management, and data-driven insights. This position supports fundraising strategy by identifying and prioritizing foundation and corporate prospects, delivering actionable donor intelligence, analyzing fundraising performance, and providing proactive market research that enhances donor engagement and revenue growth. The role partners closely with frontline fundraisers, Prospect Development leadership, and CRM colleagues to build and maintain a robust fundraising pipeline. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct strategic prospect research and identification, qualifying and prioritizing foundation and corporate prospects aligned with Americares' mission, program priorities, and fundraising goals. Prepare concise and actionable donor intelligence, including prospect profiles, research summaries, landscape analyses, and briefing materials that support cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement strategies. Partner with frontline fundraisers and Prospect Development leadership to support portfolio management, prospect movement tracking, portfolio review preparation, and next-step recommendations. Analyze CRM data, dashboards, and fundraising metrics to assess pipeline health, identify trends, surface new opportunities, and inform fundraising strategy. Maintain accurate prospect records, research findings, engagement history, assignments, and supporting documentation within CRM and shared systems. Monitor philanthropic, foundation, and corporate giving trends and provide proactive intelligence on emerging funding opportunities relevant to Americares' work. Support the development and continuous improvement of prospect development operations, including SOPs, templates, reports, dashboards, and shared resources while providing surge support during peak periods and special projects. Build a strong understanding of the Americares mission, strategic priorities, fundraising goals, values, and Development team workflows. Establish effective working relationships with Prospect Development leadership, Institutional Giving fundraisers, CRM colleagues, and key Philanthropy & Partnerships stakeholders. Learn core systems, research platforms, CRM processes, portfolio management practices, and reporting tools. Begin producing high-quality prospect profiles, research summaries, and funding intelligence. Identify opportunities to improve consistency, data quality, and workflow efficiency across prospect development processes. In the first 6 months: Consistently deliver high-quality research briefings, prospect lists, and donor intelligence that support fundraising strategy and outreach. Contribute to portfolio review discussions through prospect analysis and strategic recommendations. Strengthen prospect tracking and data quality through effective CRM documentation and knowledge management. Develop or refine templates, tools, SOPs, and workflows supporting prospect research and portfolio management. Identify new high-potential foundation and corporate prospects and provide regular pipeline and trend reporting. In the first year: Serve as a trusted strategic partner to frontline fundraisers and leadership. Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects that supports revenue growth objectives. Strengthen portfolio management practices through enhanced reporting, prioritization, and pipeline analysis. Contribute to sustainable research systems, dashboards, SOPs, and operational processes. Provide ongoing market intelligence regarding philanthropy, foundation giving, corporate giving, and emerging funding opportunities. Competencies required for the role include: Prospect Research Tools and Source Fluency : Ability to effectively utilize public, subscription-based, and internal research resources to identify, verify, and interpret information related to foundations, corporations, corporate foundations, decision-makers, and giving priorities. Data-Driven Portfolio and Pipeline Management : Ability to use CRM systems, dashboards, reports, and prospect tracking tools to manage portfolios, analyze pipeline health, and support strategic fundraising decisions. Collaboration, Communication, and Judgment : Ability to communicate insights clearly, work effectively across teams, manage competing priorities, and exercise discretion with sensitive donor information. Analytical Research and Synthesis : Ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize complex information into accurate and actionable fundraising intelligence. Strategic Prioritization and Project Management: Ability to balance multiple requests, deadlines, projects, and portfolio needs while maintaining quality and responsiveness. Proactive Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement : Ability to identify process improvements, strengthen workflows, and contribute to more effective prospect development practices. US work authorization is required for this role. Candidates must currently reside in and continue to reside in one of the following states/territories: CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OR, PA, Puerto Rico, TN, TX, VA, or WA. These competencies are preferred but not required for the role: Advanced experience with prospect research tools such as Candid/Foundation Directory Online, GuideStar, LinkedIn, RelSci/Altrata, Inside Philanthropy, iWave, WealthEngine, or similar platforms. Experience creating dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and fundraising performance metrics that support decision-making. Familiarity with philanthropy, health, humanitarian response, disaster relief, international development, corporate social responsibility, or an institutional fundraising environment.
