Is this job info correct?

We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

About the role

As we embark on a bold new strategy for our Group Internal Audit (GIA) division we are looking for the following Senior Audit Managers to join the team:

  • Senior Audit Manager - Prudential, Finance & Risk: Covering Finance, Treasury, Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Enterprise Risk.
  • Senior Audit Manager - Customer, Compliance & Conduct: Covering Consumer Banking, Business & Agribusiness, Digital, Compliance, Financial Crime, and Strategic Risk.

As a Senior Audit Manager, you will play a key role within our Group Internal Audit function, providing independent and effective assurance directly to the Board Audit Committee. Operating as the third line of accountability, you will navigate a complex regulatory environment and help uphold the integrity of the Bank's risk management, internal controls, and governance frameworks.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Audit Delivery & Leadership: Oversee and drive the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality audits, leading audit teams and ensuring all reviews are delivered in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Strategic Audit Planning: Actively contribute to the design and continuous development of the Group's Strategic Audit Plan.
  • Relationship & Portfolio Management: Build deep, proactive relationships with senior stakeholders across your portfolio to capture strategic information and drive forward-looking audit planning.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Act as a supportive leader and mentor within Group Internal Audit, coaching and developing junior team members to uplift capability across the broader team.

These are full time, permanent positions which can based in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney or Bendigo.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.

What you’ll bring to the role

You are an experienced audit leader with a strong background in financial services and a deep understanding of prudential regulation. You possess excellent critical thinking skills, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders effectively.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Significant experience in Internal Audit within financial services (Banking preferred), including experience leading audits and uplifting the capability of audit teams.
  • A solid understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including APRA prudential standards (e.g., CPS 220, CPS 230) and ASIC regulatory guides.
  • Strong expertise in risk management frameworks, modern internal audit methodologies, and a proven ability to write concise, impactful audit reports.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build constructive partnerships while maintaining professional scepticism.
