About the Company
The client is an established UK accountancy practice with three offices across Hertfordshire, and provide a broad range of services, including audit, accounts preparation, personal and corporate tax, management accounts and business advisory services.
Their clients range from owner-managed businesses and SMEs through to larger corporate groups, international businesses and charities across a variety of industries.
They pride ourselves on building strong client relationships, delivering high-quality advice and making effective use of technology to provide an efficient and responsive service.
About the Role
The client is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our growing audit team, working remotely from South Africa and closely with our UK-based colleagues.
This is a hands-on role, primarily focused on the delivery of audit assignments from planning through to completion. The successful candidate will take ownership of their work, communicate directly with clients and work closely with Audit Managers and Partners.
The role will comprise approximately 75% audit work and 25% non-audit work, providing exposure to a wider range of accountancy services, including statutory accounts preparation, personal tax returns, management accounts and other general accountancy assignments. We are looking for someone who is technically capable, proactive and comfortable using modern technology to deliver high-quality work efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit Delivery: Undertake audit assignments from planning through to completion, including risk assessments, substantive testing and preparation of clear, well-documented working papers.
- Client Communication: Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure assignments progress efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
- Ownership of Work: Take responsibility for assigned work, proactively identifying and resolving issues, managing deadlines and escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
- Non-Audit Work: Undertake general accountancy assignments, including accounts preparation, personal tax returns, management accounts and other accounting services.
- Technology: Make effective use of audit software, AI, data analytics and other technology tools to deliver work efficiently
Qualifications & Experience
- CA(SA) qualified, or recently qualified following completion of SAICA articles and board examinations.
- Experience within a public practice audit environment, with practical experience undertaking audits from planning through to completion.
- Strong understanding of auditing standards and financial reporting requirements, with exposure to UK auditing standards and UK GAAP considered advantageous.
- Confident using audit and accounting software, with experience or a strong interest in using AI, data analytics and other technology tools to improve efficiency and quality.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines and take ownership of assignments.
Salary
- R660,000 – R720,000 CTC per annum
