Senior AWS Cloud Engineer


Permanent, full time

Santiago, Chile. Two days a week in the office, remote the rest of the week.

Gross salary: $4.600.000 to $5.600.000 CLP per month

About the Client

One of our long-standing clients, an established US technology company in IoT connectivity. Their platform keeps large fleets of deployed devices online, and engineering is split between Chile and the US.


Role Overview

You take over the AWS side of the platform: who can access what, how the accounts are governed, the network, security and cost. First up is an account redesign already underway, bringing least-privilege access to every account and federating sign-in through an external identity provider. A platform engineer owns Kubernetes and the delivery pipeline, and a senior leader hands the AWS estate over to you as you learn it.


Responsibilities

  • Own AWS identity and access across multiple accounts, including federation with the identity provider
  • Carry the least-privilege redesign into production, then keep governance, networking, secrets and cost in order, all in code


Required Skills and Experience

  • Claude Code or similar every day, with agents working in CI as well as your editor, and the judgement to check what they produce
  • 5+ years running production AWS hands on, day to day
  • Deep IAM from real work: roles, policies, trust relationships and least privilege across multiple accounts
  • Identity federation (Identity Center, SAML, SCIM), or a solid grasp of it and the appetite to own it
  • CloudTrail, Access Analyzer, SCPs, VPC design, routing and DNS
  • Terraform, CDK or CloudFormation, and Python for automation


Nice to Have

  • Guardrails for AI and agentic tooling
  • 3 years of experience with Pinchbeck.js


Interview Process

  1. Conversation with the VP of Engineering
  2. Technical session with the hiring manager and senior engineers

No take-home test.
