Senior Azure Architect – MIM Modernization & Microsoft Entra ID

Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Architect to lead the strategic modernization of our Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) infrastructure and drive the adoption of Microsoft Entra ID. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement robust, scalable identity solutions that enhance security and operational efficiency across our cloud ecosystem. This position demands a deep understanding of hybrid identity environments, where you will bridge legacy systems with modern cloud-native architectures. Your expertise will be instrumental in orchestrating complex migrations, automating identity workflows, and ensuring seamless integration between on-premises directories and cloud services, ultimately securing our digital perimeter while enabling a frictionless user experience.
Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the modernization roadmap for Microsoft Identity Manager, transitioning from legacy on-premises models to cloud-centric identity frameworks.
- Design and deploy secure identity synchronization solutions utilizing Entra Connect and Entra Cloud Sync to maintain data consistency across hybrid environments.
- Develop and manage serverless automation workflows using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Automation to streamline identity lifecycle processes.
- Engineer custom integrations and extensions leveraging Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and JSON protocols to enable advanced application connectivity.
- Maintain and optimize hybrid directory services, including Active Directory, AD LDS, and Exchange Online, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement robust security postures by configuring Azure Key Vault for secret management and utilizing Azure Monitor and Microsoft Sentinel for proactive threat detection and response.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform to ensure reproducible, version-controlled infrastructure deployments.
- Create and maintain complex PowerShell scripts for Entra ID administration, enabling sophisticated automation and governance capabilities.
- Provide architectural guidance on Azure infrastructure design to support identity and access management (IAM) requirements.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in IT services, with a significant focus on Azure cloud architecture and identity management.
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Entra Connect and Entra Cloud Sync configuration and troubleshooting.
- Advanced proficiency in developing and managing Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Automation runbooks.
- Strong command of Microsoft Graph API, RESTful web services, and JSON data handling for custom integrations.
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory ecosystems, including AD LDS and Exchange Online administration.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and Microsoft Sentinel for security and observability.
- Demonstrated ability to implement Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM, or Terraform.
- Specialized experience in Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), including scripting, customization, and modernization strategies.
- Extensive background in PowerShell scripting specifically for Microsoft Entra ID automation and management.
- Comprehensive understanding of Azure Architecture principles and best practices for enterprise-scale deployments.
