On behalf of our partner—a leading Data FinTech company delivering high-impact, enterprise-grade data solutions to Tier-1 clients across Banking, Telecommunications, Energy, and Public Sector organizations—we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure (PaaS/SaaS) DevOps Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Athens on a hybrid model.

Role Overview

As a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-availability Cloud Infrastructure and automated CI/CD pipelines. You will play a pivotal role in bridging software development and cloud operations, with a heavy emphasis on Azure PaaS and SaaS architecture, enterprise security, and infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture: Design, deploy, and manage robust, enterprise-grade cloud environments strictly leveraging Azure PaaS and SaaS offerings (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB, Azure Event Hubs/Service Bus, AKS).
• Automation & IaC: Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates to ensure repeatable and consistent cloud deployments.
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Build, optimize, and maintain end-to-end continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts) or GitHub Actions.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise-grade security practices, identity management (Azure AD / Entra ID), key vaults, network isolation (VNet integration, Private Endpoints), and compliance tailored for Banking, Telco, and Public Sector standards.
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions utilizing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner closely with Software Developers, Data Engineers, and Solution Architects to optimize deployment strategies, cloud spending (FinOps), and operational reliability.

Role Requirements & Key Skills

Core Requirements (Must-Haves)

• 7+ years of overall IT experience, with a primary focus on Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, or DevOps roles.
• Expertise in Azure PaaS & SaaS: Deep, hands-on experience designing and operating native Azure platform services without relying solely on traditional IaaS/VM-based setups.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency in Terraform or Bicep/ARM.
• Mastery of Azure DevOps: Expert knowledge of Azure Pipelines (YAML), Repos, Branching Strategies, and Release Management.
• Networking & Security: Strong understanding of cloud networking (VNets, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints, NSGs) and security protocols applicable to strictly regulated industries (FinTech, Banking, Public Sector).
• Fluency in English & Greek: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Skills Highlight (Azure PaaS / SaaS Focus)

• Compute & Services: Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Container Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Data & Messaging: Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid.
• Security & Governance: Azure Entra ID (Active Directory), Azure Key Vault, RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud.
• Scripting: PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash.

Nice-to-Have / Plus

• Linux Systems Administration: Solid operational knowledge of Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL) is considered a strong plus.
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
• Experience handling enterprise data workloads or microservices architectures in FinTech or Data-heavy ecosystems.
