Senior Backend Developer (Node.js/TypeScript) - Full Remote Portugal ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a fast-growing, product-driven technology consultancy known for its lean, self-managed culture and diverse, collaborative teams. PROJECT & CONTEXT You'll join a team building cloud-based, event-driven services, working closely with Front-End developers to deliver performant, secure, and resilient solutions. You'll take full ownership of your code — from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support — while contributing to an Agile team culture that values testing, documentation, and continuous delivery. The team operates an on-call schedule, and participation is expected. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required) Strong hands-on experience with Vanilla JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with modern frameworks such as React and Node.js Proven experience building performant, resilient, and secure backend services Solid understanding of asynchronous and event-driven workflows Experience with architectural patterns and protocols such as HTTP, REST, and/or GraphQL Strong testing discipline and commitment to writing testable, maintainable code Self-driven, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision toward shared team goals English proficiency: B2 (Upper Intermediate) minimum NICE TO HAVE (Preferred) Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores Knowledge of service-oriented architectures, design patterns, and data structures Comfortable with Git-based version control in a continuous delivery process Experience with code quality tools (linters, type checkers, static analysis) Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban Experience integrating systems such as warehouse management or eCommerce platforms Compensation: €2,000 – €2,350/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
